Great hotel, loved every minute of our stay. It was our second time. They have a great onsen with a fantastic steam sauna. There is also an annex public bath which is an outside bath with a mount Fuji view. They leave the baths open until 10:00 AM so lots of time to go have a bath before checking out. The buffet dinner and breakfast are both very nice. There is a nice indoor pool. We were given a room in the Harvest club side. The room was very nice, comfortable with a baloney. The hotel is located on top of a hill with a view of the lake and of Mt Fuji. Awesome. There is a nature path near the hotel for walking. We saw some deer. Staff is very nice. Great service and welcoming feeling. Love this hotel. I hope to go back again.

This hotel is as old as me, and like me it shows :) Especially when you see it during daylight, or like today when Mount Fuji finally showed itself, you see the state of the building from the outside. However, our room is rather up to date. Rather, meaning it could use an update as well; old bathroom without mixer tap, shower head that needs replacing. Balcony looked like it could fall down any moment. TV from 20 years ago, when I was in my forties ;) The beds are very good though, and that's what really matters in a room. Location is very poor. You need a car to be able to climb the 1,5 km very steep hill. Price quality is also poor, it still thrives on its name I suppose Breakfast is good with plenty of Japanese choice, European a bit less. On our first night we ate in one of the three restaurants. Also here quality was poor. Onsen is nice and up to quality. Staff, as elsewhere in Japan, is bendingly friendly.

“If you want to stay in 1980 this is your place!”

This place must have had quite the hay day but it was clearly in the last century! Everything is tired, the beds and pillows are awful and the room lighting is scant and dim. This place must have had quite the hay day but it was clearly in the last century! Everything is tired, the beds and pillows are awful and the room lighting is scant and dim. The bar is closed and I think the restaurant may be too as we were told there wasn’t one and were taken to eat about 10 minutes away (The Seahorse). The breakfast room was almost out of food half an hour before closing and we had to wait ten minutes to get in.

We booked here for the views of Mount Fuji, which you can see from essentially anywhere in the property. It is isolated and expensive otherwise. We took a cab to/from town for dinner, and for the $100 it cost for the taxi and dinner combined it was still less expensive than one person to dine at the hotel restaurant. Breakfast was really good and included. Main reception was great, but our room was very dated, looked like it had not been updated since the 1980’s. For $500 a night I would have expected something nicer, it didn’t look anything at all like the photos on the booking site. It also seemed like there were 2 parts to the hotel, the Mt Fuji side and the Tokyu harvest club side, so maybe that is it? The public bath was amazing and the highlight! There were 2 on the women’s side, one outdoors that also had cold plunge pools and another smaller indoor/outdoor one. A good stay, but overpriced in my opinion. I feel like they had their hay day in the 70’s and 80’s. Some renovations to modernize the rooms and it would be there again.
