Staff and service was excellent. Location ~2km from Kawaguchiko station but not an issue as the hotel provides a shuttle. Lots of food options and a supermarket 5-10 walk from the hotel. Most importantly, an amazing unobstructed view of Mount Fuji. Get a higher floor for a better view. This is the key reason why you’d want to stay at Hotel Regina.

This hotel is tucked away but was a wonderful surprise. The rooms all have a view of Mt Fuji (when it shows itself), rooms are large and the location is walkable to a number of convenience stores and restaurants. The beds are what you may expect, in that they are small and very firm, with very little in the way of pillows. However it is to be expected when traveling in Japan. The space of the room makes up for it, with three adults and luggage having ample room here. The rooms are very clean but a tad dated. The staff are all very welcoming, helpful and spoke very good English. Breakfast was also included in the stay, so that was a lovely and welcomed bonus.

Pros- - hotel has its own onsen and it’s free - laundry machines are located downstairs too - most staff members are very nice. - do get a massage here, this guy who is probably 70 is the best therapist I have ever had. Pros- - hotel has its own onsen and it’s free - laundry machines are located downstairs too - most staff members are very nice. - do get a massage here, this guy who is probably 70 is the best therapist I have ever had. He opened up my back and all the nerves. Not overly priced as most places. No frills - you can get a room with Mt Fuji view. From floor 5 and above it’s good. Else it’s covered in trees - they have a free shuttle to station and back BUT they won’t pick you before check in time (strange) Cons: - location is next to no where on some free way. Going any where requires a taxi uber or a car. If you are trying to catch a sunrise some place good luck. It’s a hit or a miss - I spent a tonne of money in taxis. I shouldn’t have skimped on the room rate. If you have your own car then it might be good but you can’t just walk to a lake - stayed here two nights. Check out is at 11, I asked them for 20 mins extra ss my taxi was scheduled for 11:30. They denied the request. So I checked out at 10 thinking I’ll go somewhere and come back. They wanted 500 yen to store my small back pack! For 20 mins that is. I told them it’s unfair then they waved it - hotel is old btw, bathroom amenities are good. I won’t stay here again unless everything is sold out. I’d suggest stay near the lake so you can walk everywhere

We stayed just one night here checking-in at late in the evening. The reception guys must have been drinking as we smelled alcohol from their mouths. The rooms however were clean and reasonable priced. However, our rooms could not see Mt Fuji. We just stayed for the night so it does not matter. Ask… more
