Teeny tiny double room but as I was only using as a base while on business it was fine but had there been 2 of us sharing for a longer time, I would have struggled with the limited space. Room had no wardrobe, just a hang rail opposite the bathroom, no drawer space at all. Luggage can easily be stored under the bed. Small table and chair and a clever shelf which housed tissues, cups, coffee supply and hanging off that a couple of rattan bags housing the hairdryer and slippers, clever use of limited space! Bathroom was fine, small and compact with a half bath and shower over Electric sockets just above the headboard was useful as said headboard was wide enough for me to place phone on for charging. Another double socket was close to the kettle. Coffee bags provided were good but no milk, I drink black coffee so fine by me. Good wifi throughout Room keys were actual keys… can’t remember the last time I stayed anywhere with a physical key. Bit of a pain for housekeeping to clean room, had to remember to leave key at reception when going out for the day, otherwise doesn’t get done but they leave a bag with clean towels, coffee supply, fresh slippers hanging on the door. Key cards for the rooms would be advantageous. Room was on 9th floor, on the left of the building as you look towards main entrance. Great that I could actually open a window however, there seems to be a meeting place for young locals down this side street. The noise from midnight to 03:00 was a bit much every night. Fortunately I was suffering the effects of jet lag so I was wide awake anyway but otherwise I would have been really irritated. Language was a barrier everywhere. Being British, we almost, expect everyone to speak English, an unfair assumption as I certainly don’t speak Japanese!! Google translate became my best friend Had a meal in the Smoke Room restaurant which was excellent. I ordered the Japanese Beef which was stunning but it came as just that no accompaniments. I “think” it’s more like a Tapas style and I should have ordered more dishes so the Menu could have explained this a little better All in all, a great value for money hotel with no frills

The hotel location is perfect as it’s close to all the shopping mall and shopping street, and also the Yokohama station. Numerous shops and restaurants, and convenient store everywhere. The room we booked is the family room, and it has 2 beds and a sofa bed. The tv is a bit small, and the sink is not together with the toilet, which is so weird. There is no view from the window at all. The key is a physical key with a big knot, which is quiet inconvenient to carry out.

Took the train from HND to Yokohama Station and walked from the West Exit of the station following the river. For those walking with baggage, keep in mind that the ground is not level. Making the journey feel longer than it actually is. Bar on the ground floor with reception on the floor above. When you check-in, they do give you a coupon for a welcome drink. Never did end up using mine. Hotel has a US in the 1920s/30s feel to the atmosphere, even including staff uniforms. That includes the fact that the hotel does not use electronic keycards. Each room is a physical key. As such, if you want housekeeping to service your room, you need to leave the key with the front desk. If you don't, then you can keep the key with you but staff does warn if you loose the key, you will be charged for the key and for re-keying the room. If you opt not to have housekeeping come by, they do leave a bag of towels, etc that would have been changed/replenished at your door. Room is tiny and feels tiny. You definitely need the space under the bed to store your baggage and while packing, need to put the suitcase on the bed or deal with it taking up the entire walkway. Bathroom was super tiny, felt smaller than the bathrooms at an APA hotel. There is awkwardly a shelf on top of the toilet paper. It is also in the doorway so watch your legs lest you run into it. The tub/sink is a combo faucet so the spout ends up very far out for the sink. Was easier to wash hands with it over the tub instead. For those with mid/long hair (mine currently goes halfway down my back), the shower drain will clog quickly. The drain is tiny (maybe 1in width) and the net cover on the drain was clogged by half a shower. By the time I finished my shower, was standing in a pool of water. Overall, excellent price for it's location. Good staff. Would definitely pay the extra for the larger room.
