I stayed at the New Chagala for 4 nights and I found the staff, rooms and food all to be great. Staff were really polite and helpful. Rooms were clean, comfortable and cozy. Food was good, different choices every night and tasty. Because of current situation, no beer unfortunately. Hopefully next time as would stay again.

“Cheap and Cheerfulish”

Used this hotel many times during visits to Atyrau and crew change since 2011. It is what it is, inexpensive and a comfortable bed with a decent sized room. Buffet breakfast served is very good. Bar does not stay open late even for residents. The style of the 2 floor hotel is a bit outdated, it is like prefab sheds. Externally they have apartments in blocks which are nice. Mad Murphy's pub next door serves up decent food.

Was moved to this serviced apartment when I had to vacate my other serviced apartment due to over booking. Check in was OK, but the rooms are on the small side. There are two parts to this complex & I stayed at the one on the main road, not by the river. Firstly, the furniture in the room is very dated, and the veneer is starting to peel off. I found out he hard way when I moved the chair and it cut my finger. There is also a lack of sockets to plug anything in. I had to unplug the lounge light to charge my computer and remove bedside light to charge my phone. The room facilities are basic, would find it hard to cook anything with the utensils provided which means eating at the restaurant or going out every night The worst part though was the quality of food ordered at the bar or for takeaway. Went through the menu and pretty much everything was poor. On the plus side the Irish bar behind the second complex now open. Food is better and can also do takeaways. The staff are friendly and helpful, just needs to be drastically updated and extra sockets provided for charging laptops & phones. The only other annoyance was that every time you wanted to use internet you had to go through the procedure of logging in every time. On the plus side there is a large TV in the lounge with plenty of stations to choose from and the bed was comfortable.

old hotel needs some renovation, it is 2 floor hotel with no Elevator. river view room available since it is located on the river side directly. drinks are expensive in the lobby it should be little cheaper
