We stayed at the AC Hotel Riga using Marriott Bonvoy points, so that's always helpful in improving your opinion of a stay...when you didn't have to shell out any real cash. But, regardless of how we paid for the stay the AC Hotel was excellent when comparing to other European hotel stays. The room was not massive, but I didn't expect it to be in the heart of an ancient city. The room was, however, very comfortable for what it was; modern bathroom, comfortable beds, and enough space to still unpack some stuff for a longer stay and enjoy a bit of time in the room. Staying in the room though was not what we intended to do, and most likely won't be your intention either. The location of AC Hotel Riga is just outside of the main Old Towne area by only a block or two. You can easily be in the heart of Old Towne withing a 10 minute walk, and you're in Old Towne itself within 5 minutes. It's very close. All around the hotel though are restaurants, bars, shops, etc. that you'll spend some time at as well. There isn't anything you might need that you can't find within a block or two of the hotel location. The parking is a bit odd, but if you follow the instructions you are given it works out just fine, and you end up right under the hotel building or neighboring building...it's just a bit of a roundabout way that you get there since there are many one-way streets in this part of the city. Drop your things at the hotel check-in first and just send your best navigator back to the car to park....while the rest of you go to the bar for a drink! The bar at the AC Hotel was an important part of the hotel and our stay for us. The staff working behind and around the bar were very friendly (all spoke English) and willing to help in any way. We truly became friends with a couple of the bartenders over our stay because we had several great conversations with them about their world vs. ours, differences in culture, politics, our different views due to our differences in age, etc. Very educated and interesting folks we enjoyed meeting. You may not agree with all of their views (although we did for the most part) - and likewise for them & your views - but, the conversation itself was very educating. The AC Hotel Riga is not the Ritz Carlton, but you know that when you make the reservation; thus, don't expect that. But, it's a very comfortable, well-located, and well-appointed hotel that you will find is an all-around good pick for a stay in the heart of Riga.

“It does its job.”

The hotel is situated only about a five-minute taxi drive from the old town..which will only cost you four or five euros using the local service. The hotel is clean; rooms are modern. It just does exactly what you want for a reasonable price. Location is good; there are plenty of bars and restauran… more

The hotel is situated only about a five-minute taxi drive from the old town..which will only cost you four or five euros using the local service. The hotel is clean; rooms are modern. It just does exactly what you want for a reasonable price. Location is good; there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby and here, just a short walk or drive into the old town. It does everything perfectly well but nothing exceptional.

“Nice stay”

We stayed here two nights after a disaster in the old town. Staff were friendly. The room was comfortable with an opening window. The shower was small with water pressure that could be better. The bed was comfortable. Tight stay with 2 people.

I found the room quite small, but it had a wonderful view of the historic old town, which is just about a 15 minute walk away. I booked a room for two nights and I had an average stay in an average room. I found the room quite small, but it had a wonderful view of the historic old town, which is just about a 15 minute walk away. Generally, everything was clean, although I noticed that in the corridors the corners of the carpet where it meets the wall could have been cleaned better. Apparently the hotel itself does not have much to offer besides a fitness room when it comes to activities. I can’t say anything about the food and beverage options, as I didn’t use them. That’s it.
