“The perfect stay”

Loved everything about this accommodation. A roomy, yet warm apartment, great, helpful staff (especially Peter) and perfect location. Will only stay at 47 Park whenever in London.

I’m not typically a review guy (unless something goes horribly awry). But I do feel the need to lavish praise upon this property. I’m usually in London for business and stay in other Marriott properties. With the family, the two bedroom suite at Grand Residences was perfect. My two kids stayed in one room while my wife and I stayed in the other. We had a kitchenette and large living room/dining room. To be clear, Mayfair is desolate. There is very little in terms of restaurants or retail within a 10 minute walk. A peaceful night sleep is important though when traveling to London from the States. Highly, highly recommend this property. Great staff, great experience.

A vacation ownership property in an Edwardian style townhouse. Our suite was well sized with a bedroom, living room, and a small kitchenette and bathroom. Given the differences in sleeping patterns in our family having the two rooms (bed and living) was very nice though having the extra space does add to the price. The kitchenette is also nice as we could easy make breakfast for ourselves each day; it is also set up with a microwave, stove top, refrigerator, and many typical kitchen necessities (glassware, silverware, plate ware, pots & pans). The property is located in the expensive area of Mayfair, not far from Oxford Street and Hyde Park. Walking around, besides seeing all the charming houses, you'll get used to seeing many many very expensive cars not seen in most neighborhoods. It is NOT an easy walking distance to some typical tourist attractions such as Tour of London, St. Paul's Cathedral, Covent Garden. Kensington Palace, etc. If those are what your vacation is about you'd be better served to stay in a location closer or become an expert on public transportation. You can walk to Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey but be prepared for a good long walk. The staff at the Grand Residence are exceptional! They don't have an onsite restaurant (though there are plenty of restaurants in the area) but they do provide room service at a good price with delicious tasting food.

“Great Family Hotel”

Usually we are traveling as a family of 3, this time we brought parents along so we were a group of 5. Since London hotels are generally very small we decided to try out the GR by Marriott in Mayfair. We shared the 2 bedroom suite. It included 1 bedroom with a ensuite bathroom, then a second bedroom and bathroom. There was also a small kitchen and very large living/dining space with a sofa bed. The kitchen had a small electric range, and pots and pans to make small meals. If you use salt and pepper, make sure to bring it, we had to call room service to bring it up since there wasn't any in the apartment. The fridge was very small, so if you are going grocery shopping check the size before you buy. The beds were comfortable, the larger bedroom was fairly spacious by London standards, the second one a bit on the smaller end so it was a tight squeeze with our luggage but it did have closets. The sofa was not great to sit on and overall the living/dining was a bit dated but it worked fine for our child to sleep on at night. There is a small elevator but we choose to use the stairs most times going in and out since it was rather small. The staff we interacted with were all very nice. We arrived pretty late on a Saturday night and because of a concert in the park all the Streets were shut down so we had to walk pretty far with our luggage from where our Uber dropped us off. It was not ideal - if you are arriving on the weekend in the summer, check with the hotel if there is a concert happening because if you arrive between 9:30-10:30pm you will probably have the same issue we did, but maybe they know of a closer drop off point. The hotel had a specific system of bringing up our luggage with an Valet who tells you all about the space but it was 10pm we hadn't had dinner and were very cranky. So we didn't follow their process - apologies to all! It was a long day. The location of the hotel was close to many other hotels and their bars, and restaurants. Within a few blocks there are some nice restaurants to try. We visit London once or twice a year and have never stayed in Mayfair. The tube was a few blocks away and Taxis and Ubers were plentiful in the area. The one negative is the hotel does not participate in Marriott Elite nights or points, so we didn't get either from our stay- which was not ideal. Other things - we had access to the Park Lane gym a few blocks away and it was very easy to get groceries delivered.
