Booked a family room for one night 31/7. As seasoned RIU customers we expected RIU standards. From start to finish we were not disappointed. Welcome ✔️Staff✔️Room✔️Breakfast ✔️✔️❤️. Concierge gave good advice of local pubs, bars & restaurants. Room was adequate for short stay, with Grandchildren 12 & 14. Cleanliness was excellent. Layout of the room was easy well designed. Only small negative lift rather busy at peak times. We have found a replacement go to for London.

“Excellent London Hotel”

Straight from check in the staff were all amazing. So friendly and extremely helpful. We loved the hotel decor, corridors and seating areas which were all clean and tidy with some great art work. Straight from check in the staff were all amazing. So friendly and extremely helpful. We loved the hotel decor, corridors and seating areas which were all clean and tidy with some great art work. The addition of the water stations is a big bonus. We were on the 9th floor and our room was perfect. Spotlessly clean with everything we could need. We loved the whole layout of the room from the amazing shower room, curved wardrobe (safe, iron, ironing board, hairdryer inside) , little privacy door, bedroom area with fridge and tea/coffee. Our bed was so comfy and the room so quiet. We did have a glass of wine from the bar/cafe in the afternoon which was a great price and we sat outside in the sun at the front of the hotel although there was plenty of seating inside the reception area. We went to breakfast about 0830 and there were plenty of empty seats and no crowding or waiting for food. The selection of hot and cold dishes was very good and the cooked breakfast was all very hot. The staff were attentive and cleared things away quickly. Location is great , quick 5/10 min walk from Pimlico tube on the Victoria line so easy to access all parts of London. A big thank you to all the staff, we stay in Riu hotels regularly and the staff are always a credit to them. Will definitely stay again when we come down to London.

RIU Plaza London The Westminster, located a mere stroll from several of London’s main attractions, provides for a convenient base from which guests can easily access everything the historic city has to offer. Whilst the hotel itself lacks any historic old-London charm, it makes up for it with its modern build and decor. The property provides guest a brilliantly decked-out gym across the two uppermost floors of the building, offering sweeping views of the city. Although the hotel does not feature a restaurant on-site, it does offer a bar on the ground floor, and a wonderful and option-heavy breakfast (hot - eggs, pancakes, waffles, bacon etc, and cold - pastries, fruit, yoghurt etc), although I’d recommend beating the crowd and getting in as early as you can, as it does get very busy. Just be aware, you will be herded into a particular area of the breakfast dining room until it’s busy enough to warrant more spread of guests - I wasn’t able to take a seat at a table in a slightly more quiet area and was instead directed to sit in the crowded area (quite full at the time), where guests were being directed until that was full, before allocating seating in my desired spot. There are also no in-room dining options available in the hotel. Despite its prime location, the hotel is not quite as conveniently located to nearby dining options as are many other properties in the city, but there are a few options nearby. For grab-and-go options, however, the hotel bar is a convenient option. The hotel operates a total of four guest lifts, although these tend to get quite full if on a higher floor. A few times I had to wait for the next lift due to the lift being full of other guests - especially during breakfast times. A minor grievance, unless perhaps on the top floor, and squished into the corner by other reckless guests forcing themself into the lift to save themself a wait - something i did see happen to a fellow guest. Clearly, fault of other guests more than the hotel. Welcoming me beyond the automatic revolving door was a friendly hotel staff member to greet me, and point me in the direction of an available colleague to check me in. Check in was prompt, informative and quick. The staff member had me checked in and advised of amenities and breakfast within moments. The room itself is peculiar in layout. Immediately upon entry, guests are greeted with the bathroom, featuring separate toilet and shower, which forms the thoroughfare to the bedroom. An interconnecting door also featured in the bathroom, through which the muffling of the neighbouring guests could clearly be heard. Conveniently, a sliding door separates the bedroom from the bathroom, helping drown out those muffled voices. In traditional London-esque style, the room itself is relatively small. The bed is comfortable, and very basic tea and coffee making facilities are provided. Although I found the room comfortable enough, I did find myself struggling to get a decent night of sleep on any of the four nights of my stay - likely due to travellers-foot more than the room itself. Without question, the greatest appeal of this hotel is its location, the breakfast and the fitness centre. Provided half-star ratings were an option, I would rate this property 3.5 stars. As it is without question above that of 3 stars, I have no option but to rate it at 4. Its redeeming factors really are the impressive breakfast spread and the well equipped gym with amazing views.

“Changes under new owners”

Have stayed in this hotel before under previous ownership as it offers an excellent nights sleep. Disappointed that the restaurant is no longer open in the evening nor is the bar. The coffee shop downstairs is now the Lobby Bar. Not an issue in the summer but having to go out for food in the wint… more

Have stayed in this hotel before under previous ownership as it offers an excellent nights sleep. Disappointed that the restaurant is no longer open in the evening nor is the bar. The coffee shop downstairs is now the Lobby Bar. Not an issue in the summer but having to go out for food in the winter will be a bit annoying. Hotel now feels a bit lifeless I’m afraid but you will get a decent sleep.
