This was my third stay, so one of my regular destination as Madrid became as one of my favourites cities, this hotel is my home in this lovely city. Location, rooms, pricing making an excellent choice for all those want a cozy place with all needs covered not overpaying.

Last year i stayed for 1 week in this hotel, and i loved, since the hotel is not located by Gran Via - Callao - Sol triangle área, the pricing is lower, however, the hostel can be reached in 5 minutes walking from Gran Via and Fuencarral, so dont worry, is very centric, safe and sorrounded by many bars and restaurants, actually 3 blocks away from San Ildefonso Market, and the busy Fuencarral St. Eloisa (manager) she is a great host, very helpful and kind so dont hesitate to ask her any directions (english, spanish or even in italian!). Coffee and some pastreis are provided for free everyday in your room or comon room, this is not breakfast but it helps to start and this is a great value add. rooms are big enough, maybe small bathrooms (this is Madrid! everything is packed in small spaces) but everything working perfectly. and you can sleep by the night away from the crowd and traffic noises. You can reach from Airport with the metro with only 1 change and will drop you 2 blocks away after 30 mins trip. (same way back) This hotel became my fav, for everytime i travel to Madrid.

“Not for light sleepers or those requiring breakfast ”

On the positive side: very reasonably priced, well located, very friendly check in staff (when desk manned, which it wasn't between 8-9am while I was there), powerful hot shower in en-suite bathroom, TV (Spanish channels only) and fridge in room, plus AC in all rooms. On the downside: all rooms off one long, echoey corridor. So you will hear everyone come back to their room at night and everyone getting up and checking out in a morning: from the turn of the lock to the closing door but any other noises the guests choose to make. Ear plugs essential. Also breakfast is definitely not as pictured in early photos of this establishment, although on the website these things are not promised: No Dolce Gusto coffee maker in room, no breakfast trays with modest selection of continental goodies. Instead, a communal lounge with, on morning 1: no water in coffee maker, no coffee cups anyway, no milk, no knives to spread provided margarine and jam on provided bread for toasting and no plates to eat it off. On morning 2, I took my own mug (filled with water) and knife, both borrowed from my work kitchen. There was already water in the coffee machine, but no bread to toast. So I put jam on the provided mini sponge cakes and ate them off a sheet of kitchen roll. Both mornings no-one on reception to help. OK for the money, but I wouldn't stay again.
