Classic, luxurious lobby — the staycation mood hits the moment you step in. We do staycations across the region almost bi-weekly and frequent Johor, so expectations are usually quite calibrated. To be frank, many Johor hotels tend to lean more towards a serviced apartment feel, with limited hospitality touchpoints. This stay felt different. By Johor standards, this is on the more “luxurious” end. Bellhop was present on arrival and assisted promptly with luggage, which already set a stronger first impression than most. Check-in was smooth and efficient, no unnecessary waiting. Room was as expected. Clean, comfortable bedding, and generally well-maintained. It may not be overly flashy, but it delivers where it matters. Housekeeping standards were consistent throughout. Facilities are decent and sufficient for a short staycation. The pool area is pleasant, and the overall environment feels more put together compared to many nearby properties. Common areas are well-kept and don’t feel tired. Location is a strong plus. First time staying in this area, and it turned out to be a great find. Plenty of eateries within a short distance, from local food to cafes making it very convenient without needing to travel far. Service overall is consistent and functional. While not overly warm or personalised, it is efficient and reliable. For the price point, and relative to Johor’s general hotel standards, this is a solid choice for a short getaway. It delivers a proper hotel experience rather than the more common serviced apartment feel. Might make it our go to hotel in jb.

Dear Renaissance Team, I would like to share my appreciation for the wonderful help I received from Imran during my recent check-in. What was originally meant to be just a day trip unexpectedly turned into an overnight stay, and I arrived at the hotel quite late at night without any of my travel essentials. As it was already close to midnight, it wasn’t really practical for me to go out to get what I needed. Imran was incredibly kind and thoughtful. He helped me with a charging cable and made sure I had what I needed to settle in comfortably. On top of that, he very generously offered his own personal set of facial cleanser and serums so that I would at least have something to use for the night. His kindness and willingness to help truly meant a lot to me. It is service like this that really builds Marriott Bonvoy loyalty. Small gestures like Imran’s make guests feel genuinely cared for, and I am very grateful for his generosity and professionalism. Please do extend my thanks to him. This is one of my regular and favorite hotels; I stayed here about five or six times last year in 2025. I usually book rooms with lounge access because I like to have a couple of drinks and unwind there after returning to the hotel in the evening. I’ve already stayed twice this May, and the overall experience remains quite good. My only complaint is that the alcohol service in the lounge keeps getting shorter. During my first stay in early May, I checked in around 8:30 PM. After dropping my bags in the room, I headed to the lounge for a drink, only to be told by the staff that the alcohol service now ends at 8:30 PM, so I missed out. My second stay was on May 15th, also booked with lounge access. This time it was even more absurd—I was told that the alcohol service had been cut back further to end at 7:30 PM, running at the exact same time as the dinner service.
