The hotel was spectacular, we had amazing staff waiting for us, Natasha!! She was lovely! Welcomed us so warmly and help us through our stay. We also had the pleasure to meet Fiona and she was also of great help to us with all the bookings we needed and special tips for our time in the city

The hotel is amazing and the service is on point. Go check out Crystal restaurant/bar by the pool, and find Khan. Khan is the man. 10/10 service from start to finish. He was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect. Not only was he professional, but he was also entertaining and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. You can tell he genuinely cares about providing excellent service. I highly recommend asking for Khan—you won't be disappointed!

Before the trip, I looked at photos of the Caroline Astor / St. Regis suites and had high expectations that the hotel would be similar to some of the finest hotels I stayed in. But perhaps it was bearing with check-in in an average lobby, entering the suite with the extra bed not set up, or the luggages not yet in, or pretty much all the pre-arrival requests going into a blackhole had me started on the wrong foot. Nine copies of the same hardcover book in the room about a KL building of lower importance. This couldn’t be fine enough, this hotel must be lacking substance. Doors don’t close silently, and oh, that din, constant din of the traffic noise, those motorbikes and emergency vehicles! Of all the things I don’t like, I must say I found the soundproofing to be quite poor. On the positive side, the suite is undeniably spacious and the layout is good. Not confusing. Powder, walk-in wardrobe, enclosed toilet, a bedroom that fits extra bed easily — all ticks. Not finding the massage room super useful, and a minimally equipped pantry would be preferred instead. I don’t find the butler service useful. Not having an executive lounge because you have a butler is a sorry excuse. The finest hotels I’ve been in have both. The butlers just send you standard beverages, and I heard you could pay to have them entertain your kids, but we didn’t try that. If I need to know anything about touristy things in KL, Gemini does the job well enough. The butler hotline could solve issues though, one time my suite wasn’t cleaned until 2pm, and complaining over the hotline got someone sent over rather quickly. Though the first reaction of, did you have a do not disturb on, was quite unwelcome (I did not, and if I had, they should have known for a fact — and leave a note card of sort). The location is less appealing than most great KL hotels. It is not connected or close to any mall, which is rather common feature for a KL hotel. I booked it knowing that, and since Grab is super easy, it is not too much of an issue. Mind you that the way to KLCC and Bukit Bintang would pass jammed roads during rush hours though. This hotel is close to KL sentral, but still not connected to it. Close to NU sentral, but not quite a walking distance with a child. My family and I liked the food. Breakfast spread has average variety, but high quality and taste great, as it should be in finer hotels. Their local delights like nasi lemak at breakfast and nasi goreng at crystal are legit. Good enough to satisfy your cravings if you got no time to go makan. Or the toddler on your tow won’t let you. The a la carte items during breakfast are lowlights though, feel almost like they are just there because a fine hotel must have them, but theirs are not quite fine enough. Overall though, I must admit my expectation was set based on how the suites looked, and the emphasis on butler service. The St. Regis / Caroline Astor suites cost about half of the highest priced luxury hotels in KL. Perhaps I was hoping for a steal, but it was not? I’d say the price point is still quite a good value for what you’d get, and worth shortlisting as long as you are not so easily bothered by traffic noise.
