The Pacific Regency Beach Resort is a popular hotel with its prominent local charm✨. It has free parking, along with facilities such as a kiddie room🧒, arcade (very small)🕹️, restaurant🍽️, pool🏊‍♀️, playground🛝 and more! There was even a birdcage near the pool🦜! As for the rooms, the are small but comfortable, with a TV, safe and balcony🤩 ! Meanwhile, the receptionists are locals, so do use a translator to talk with them💬 ! The location is quite good, within walking distance to a gas station⛽️ and restaurant 😋! The beach is within walking distance, but is quite dirty as well as polluted☹️. Also, the pool is often crowded😖, and the public showers limited🚿. They also don’t provide you pool towels😅! The public bathroom is also often sandy and wet💦. But overall, although this place has its flaws, it is suitable for local families and travellers alike🧳!

“Our First Time Here, The Suites Are Pleasant”

Stayed 2D1N, 27 June - 28 June. We were 2 families and paid for Seri Menanti Suite and Seri Menanti Junior Suite, both with private pools. Reservations were made at the hotel's website. PEOPLE We checked in at 4pm, the hotel was bustling with guests who have already checked in. There were 2 staff members at the Reception, we were attended to by a young man (Najib? Sorry if we got the name wrong). Najib did his best to attend to our request i.e. an allotted parking spot for 1 vehicle (out of 2) out of good gesture since we paid for 2 Suites, and due to having very elderly parents. For context, the parking spots were full when we arrived and guests had to drive to the back of the hotel (right at the beachfront) and it was quite a walk to go to the Reception from there. Najib spoke with the manager, and informed that 1 spot could be allocated for us. We are most thankful for that. The security guard assisted with the luggage, sent them all the way to the Suites. Housekeeping, F&B personnel was polite despite the language barrier. ACCOMMODATION The Suites were located beach-fronting, so we had to walk towards the "end" of the building. It was a worthy walk, the Suites were all pleasant, the pools clean. Seri Menanti Suite was very spacious, apart from the 1 bedroom, the living hall has a sofa-bed. Elevators were small (old 90's building probably) and limited. Common swimming pools are large. FOOD We ordered in-room dining service: the nasi goreng, char kway teow, burgers, fries - they were all flavourful, delicious. Our only proposal is this: At the price that every one pays to stay at the hotel, even for the most basic rooms, and what more for the Suites, we think the hotel should provide a better spread of breakfast. The spread was not extensive, breads were just the usual bread. For a very limited spread of buffet, at least provide croissants and another type of pastry? We may return, since my Mum loves the Suite. Just don't be a scrooge when it comes to human resources. And food.

Not an Hotel for western couples or solo. I booked this hotel on the strength of it's big swimming pool and proximity to the beach. I didn't get in the pool once. The hotel was fully booked and I was the only westerner. It was 99% Malay - mostly families. For them it was a great venue. The pool was swamped with kids who, good luck to them, were having a great time. But swimming in the pool was a non-starter. Other shortcomings: 1) Inflexible check-in. Nobody allowed to access room before 3pm. At 3 there is then a queue filling the whole foyer. I sat in the foyer for 4 hours waiting for the queue to get down to a 10 minute queue time. 2) 2 tiny elevators for the entire hotel. I was on the top floor so stairs were not an option. So when there was a downpour outside, 100 people left the pool and queued to go back to their rooms. Same at check-out time. 3) breakfast expensive. 4) pool towels scarce. 5) no western TV channels or smart TV options. 6) view from restaurant towards the sea (which would be a stunning place for an adult infinity pool) , is an overflow car park 🙄. Good things: nice room. Nice breakfast. Nice room service. Nice (if limited) staff
