I spend at minimum 3 weeks every quarter at the Penang Marriott and each time I am treated kindly. Greeted by concierge at the door and quickly greeted by Melanie Goh who makes you feel at home. She continues to make sure my stay is as best it can be and checks in every few days to ensure everything is going well. Krishnan and his staff in Sago are outstanding. Redzuan welcomes me with coffee and Pepsi Black each morning he is working. In the M Club Samson ensure this is a place to getaway from the room/apartment and hang out. His team starting with Batricia, Peter, Rueben and the morning chef are outstanding. All staff throughout entire property are all welcoming and there to ensure all is ok with your stay. Too many people to thank therefore this property gets five stars. Thank you for making my lengthy stays pleasant.

As an M Club member, my family and I stayed one night in the 2-Bedroom Sea View Suite. Room
The suite was spacious and well-equipped with many facilities. It was comfortable enough that we did not feel the need to leave the room. One area that could be improved is the dishwashing liquid provided. The orange-colored liquid was very diluted and no longer produced any foam, making it less effective for washing dishes. The bathroom amenities were excellent and had a very pleasant fragrance. Breakfast
There was a wide variety of food available. However, some improvements could be made to the taste and quality, particularly for the local food selections. M Club Lounge
The food and beverage offerings in the M Club Lounge were suitable and enjoyable. However, the lounge can feel quite crowded during peak periods due to limited space. I would like to suggest having a designated family section where children under 21 years old can also dine together with their parents in the lounge. Staff
Penang Marriott is fortunate to have a team of staff who are genuinely helpful, friendly, and professional. Every question was answered patiently, and the service provided was excellent throughout our stay. From the Front Desk to the restaurants, every staff member made us feel welcomed. Special recognition goes to the M Club Lounge team: Mr. Samson, Mr. Awis, Ms. Batrisyia, and one part-time staff member. Despite the large number of guests during cocktail hours, they remained cheerful, attentive, and provided outstanding service to my family. You are all truly exceptional. Suggestion
It would be beneficial to have a more strategically located smoking area, complete with proper ashtrays and cigarette disposal facilities. During rainy weather, many guests had to walk or run quite a distance to reach the designated smoking area, which was inconvenient. My Family Overall Rating

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at Penang Marriott. The suite was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped, while the bathroom amenities were excellent. Breakfast offered a good variety, although the quality of some local dishes could be improved. The M Club Lounge provided enjoyable food and beverages, but it was crowded during peak hours. A family dining section in the lounge would be a welcome addition. All staff were friendly, professional, and attentive. Special thanks to Mr. Samson, Mr. Awis, Ms. Batrisyia, and a part-time staff member from the M Club Lounge for their outstanding service. We also suggest improving the smoking area location and facilities for greater guest convenience.

I booked a 2-bedroom seaview apartment which was perfect for my trip with my elderly dad who is a Penangite. Space was beautiful and well laid out, and I appreciated that it was minimalistic with nothing too fancy or unnecessary. E.g., my dad could operate the shower without any issue and there weren’t any little shampoo bottles to fiddle with. Also, appreciated that the shower floor wasn’t slippery. I particularly enjoyed the M Lounge on the 20th floor. I understand this is a smaller lounge compared to the 2nd floor but it was an oasis of calm and what I needed with my dad - to have a separate space we could relax in when we needed to. We also really liked the coffee shop in the lobby. Hotel was very convenient for cars picking up/dropping off. All the staff were lovely and patient and helpful, which was incredibly reassuring as I was traveling with my elderly dad for the first time in a long while. Special shout out to Zak and Vlora at the front desk, Samson at the M Lounge and Husna in the lobby coffee shop who would always greet me and my dad with a smile and made my dad feel like a VIP guest. We didn’t walk around very much but there are restaurants within walking distance and I’d imagine it would be lovely to stroll early morning or evening along the park walkway in front of the hotel. There are two malls on Gurney drive a short Grab ride away or you could probably also walk. All in all, it was exactly what I needed for my trip with my dad, and I would highly recommend to anyone traveling with families or elderly parents. Important note for Bonvoy members: Marriott Executive Apartments is entirely separate from the Marriott Hotel and you don’t get Titanium benefits included like the lounge access and upgrades. I was informed there are rooms with the exact same apartment layout that can be booked through the hotel that would then give you all the Bonvoy loyalty benefits. I think you can also pay for lounge access if you book through the Executive Apartments. Just something to look into before booking as I had no idea and assumed they were all the same since they were in the same complex and Google Gemini told me I had lounge access as a Titanium member (this is why we always need to validate AI ;)).

I travelled to Penang with my handicapped husband and his helper in January 2026. Before arrival, I requested bath chair, non-slip rubber mat, extra towels and room near elevator etc. and all were fulfilled. The room was clean & spacious with full kitchen, washer & dryer as well as all cooking utilities, serving trays & utensil. We felt at home. The breakfast was outstanding. The reception & concierge & all staffs were very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel if you visit Penang.
