We’ve just returned from a family stay at Rebak Island, and honestly, this has been our favourite resort experience by far. What makes this place so special is the setting. It’s a private island that feels genuinely wild and untouched – dense tropical rainforest, exotic trees, and incredible wildlife – yet at the same time, the resort itself is beautifully maintained and perfectly manicured. It strikes a rare balance between raw nature and comfort. The accommodation is incredibly spacious, ideal for families, and very comfortable. The pool area is something else entirely – surrounded by thick rainforest canopy, with glimpses of the sea beyond, it’s one of the most unique settings we’ve ever swum in. One of the highlights for us was trekking across the island. It’s not an easy walk – quite demanding in parts – but it’s a true adventure. We encountered monkeys and saw some fascinating, unusual plant life. It really gives you a sense of how untouched the island is. The food deserves special mention. The restaurant offers a wide and impressive menu – from freshly made gourmet burgers (with their own baked buns), to Indian, European, and Malaysian dishes. The rendang was the best I’ve ever had, and the fish and chips were excellent. They also host themed experiences like a Saturday BBQ night and a Thursday movie night, which added a lovely touch to our stay. The staff are some of the kindest and most humble we’ve come across – always helpful and genuinely warm. At one point, I lost my daughter’s mobile phone at red rock beach. The team immediately arranged for someone to trek back there with me, and we managed to find it – crisis averted! That level of care and responsiveness really stood out. There’s also a regular, complimentary ferry to Langkawi, which is very convenient and well organised. For a special highlight, I arranged a private romantic beach dinner for our wedding anniversary. It was beautifully set up, very affordable, and made even more memorable by the attentiveness of our dedicated waiter, Harizwan, thank you so much, the service you provided was incredible! A truly special experience. The only minor downside during our stay was some temporary disruption while they were repairing the roof of the pool bar. There was some noise for a few days and parts of the pool were closed off. However, we could still swim and relax, and the work has now been completed – so this shouldn’t be an issue for future guests. Overall, this place offers something incredibly rare: nature as it’s meant to be, combined with genuine hospitality and thoughtful luxury. If you’re looking for somewhere unique, peaceful, and unforgettable – this is it. Absolute bliss.

The beach is quiet and the swimming pool is what you need to refresh in the tropical heat. The breakfast buffet has so many options and everything was very good. The restaurant offers typical Malaysian food. Langkawi can be easily reached by ferry. Thank you to Sheila and Linda who sang every night during dinner but especially during the happy hour! “Below expectation for a 4 stars hotel, too busy with retired foreigners.”

Shuttle services boat: on time, but there were too many people, there wasnt any announcement, you just go and follow others. Good that it is free, otherwise i would give another bad review. 3/5 2. Golf cart tranfers on the island were limited. They dont seem to freely want to offer rides when they see guests walking. I arrived on a night boat 9.45pm, there were many guests catching this time first boat went, we got on second boat. By the time we arrived on the island there went any cart, so after a long day of walking, especially with children (tired), there dont seem to have carts available. 2/5 3. Rooms were nice and huge for family villa. Ground floor will hear creaks at night (from i supposed heavier guests walking). Stairs to the upper foor creaks to and some areas can be slippery especially when wet. Some toilet is dated. 3/5 4. Staff alertness to surrounding environment: I dont think rounds were made to check surrounding areas, came back to a messed garbage bin, possibly done by monkeys. 3/5 5. Food: great breakfast, pizza and coconut 5/5 6. Bonus: Bird park, this is a good addition to the island specifically to children, it is enclosed and feeding the birds is possible at given time. 4/5. 7. Others to note: Road to Jetty at the main island to rebak is dark, if you are going out at night, make sure you have a taxi agreement, rent a car or use grab. Otherwise you"ll be walking. Transport arrangement in the day is possibly easier. Lots of foreigner retirees. For local Malaysians, this is probably NOT the place to go when in LGK. Other fantastic 4-5 stars accomodations are popping up on the main island.
