Great location. Walking distance to Gaya Night Market and Suria Sabah. Check in was easy. I booked 2 rooms for my parents and myself. One of the room got upgraded to a suite with a separate area for a sofa and writing desk. Both rooms are facing the wharf with stunning view. The rooftop bar offers a splendid view at night. Reasonable price too. Nice shower with good water pressure. Overall a good hotel with good location. Definitely would stay again.

We recently spent a short Christmas holiday at the Mercure Kota Kinabalu City Centre and overall, we had a lovely time. If you’re looking for a base that puts you right in the middle of all the action, the location is truly a 5/5. Being so close to everything made it super convenient for us to explore the city and soak up the holiday atmosphere. The Highlights The hotel’s amenities are excellent—we definitely made good use of them! The rooms were comfortable, clean, and provided a nice, cozy retreat after a busy day out. For the price point, the value is great, and the vibe around the hotel was generally positive and welcoming throughout our stay. It’s a solid, reliable choice if you want to be near the heart of the city. A Few Notes While the stay was lovely, there were a couple of areas that were just okay. The food quality and the service at the on-site dining weren't quite at the level we hoped for—a bit mediocre given the high standards elsewhere in the hotel. Also, if you’re planning to drive, just a heads-up that parking is quite limited, which can be a bit of a hassle during busier times like the Christmas season. Summary of our experience: Location: 5/5 – You couldn't ask for a better spot. Amenities: 5/5 – Really well-equipped. Rooms/Cleanliness/Noise Level: 4/5 – Comfortable and well-maintained. Service: 4/5 – Generally helpful, though dining service could be polished. Value: 4/5 – Good overall package. Atmosphere: 3/5 – Good, but maybe a bit more "standard hotel" than "festive magic." All in all, we had a great Christmas break. It’s a perfect spot for travelers who prioritize location and convenience. We’d consider staying again!

“A good hotel for business and get away in KK.”

The hotel is situated at one end of Kota Kinabalu but along the rather busy street Jalan Gaya. There are several nice shopping mall as well as shops within walking distance. It is just half a km away from the water front and local market. The rooms are basically well kept and clean.

We booked in for four nights with a 3&5 year old. We opted for the two bed apartment that had an amazing view of the sea (but gradually being blocked as buildings built. The balcony was a bit useless as it was tiny and no chairs. The rooms are good size, the smaller doesn’t have a window which is actually great for the kids sleeping. It was a double bed, not ideal for two kids. The shower rooms were nice and clean but the rest was a little tired. The sofa and chair were so mouldy we had to complain but they dealt with it very well and switched the sofa within an hour. I’m not sure how the cleaner hadn’t noticed the state of it or changed themselves. The pool had a great view, but was quite small. Not many chairs etc. The breakfast was poor, mainly because by 8.30am it had basically ran out, even plates, and the staff didn’t seem bothered to check or replace. The location is pretty good for the centre and the islands. For all the failings eg mouldy sofa and poor breakfast I still quite like the place. The room set up was great for a young family (other than twin beds!).
