We stayed at the Element Hotel Ilham Tower Kuala Lumpur twice during the end of February and March 2026. This hotel is right in the centre of Kuala Lumpur and is an easy waIk to the MRT station and the twin towers. It was a wonderful experience to stay here and I cannot wait to use it again. Everyone was so pleasant and there was a great indoor heated pool which we used every day. There was even an art exhibition in the building which we also enjoyed. Our room had amazing/stunning views, ( I have put the views here in the photos). Our single beds were huge and the slumberland mattresses were so comfortable. The house keeping was impeccable and to an excellent standard. I cannot fault this hotel. Well Done to everyone!

“Don't miss Element KL if visiting KL”

My wife and I recently stayed at Element KL and had an excellent experience. The hotel is conveniently located near several malls (if shopping is your thing), plenty of restaurants, a metro stop, and some attractions. The room was very clean, modern, spacious and provided great views of the city skyline. We did not have any issues with noise and enjoyed a quiet stay. The breakfast buffet is delicious and not to be missed. There were extensive options and I want to specifically call out the man at the roti station (I'm sorry to have not caught his name) who made excellent roti and was very friendly and professional (as were all the staff we interacted with). We enjoyed our lunch at the hotel restaurant as well. The pool was very nice as well, definitely worth checking out. Overall, we thought that Element KL offers outstanding value for money and we highly enjoyed our stay. If we are ever in KL again, we will certainly come back!

Only marked down to 4 stars due inadequate water pressure and water warmth in the bathroom. Otherwise super value for money.

“An outstanding experience marred by dreadful elite bonvoy benefits”

We are grateful and extremely appreciative of the pre-arrival upgrade to the humongous 1-bedroom suite. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed our 5-day stay here, where they did their activity and colouring books on the generously sized coffee table and played with their toys in the expansive living area. We appreciated the extra mattress with the green Ikea adjustable canopy, which was set up before our arrival; our kids enjoyed playing with it as well. The full-sized fridge cooled effectively, keeping our yoghurt and milk cartons chilled. The tiny square dining table was perfect for our meals. Even the lowest floor (40+) would tower over the highest of almost any other Marriott hotel in KL, and the really large heated pool is a huge huge big plus for me, who usually is limited to swimming with the kids only in the late evening when most pools would still be cold. The self-service laundry room (with 2 washers and 2 dryers) is another selling point, as it is very well ventilated with its 10+m-high ceiling. No bottled water is provided here, great for the environment, but people who aren't used to drinking non-commercially filtered water (like me) can buy bottled water from the conveniently located MyNews downstairs. It has a fantastic location - with access to small roads allowing travel in and out; the Ampang Park LRT station is within walking distance, and a 5-10min stroll via the sheltered overhead bridge would bring one to the Intermark mall, with the supermarket in its basement. The hotel, room and facilities are much newer than the excellent Renaissance KL or Sheraton, which we love very, very much. In fact, considering only the hard product of the facilities, we'd rate Element higher than JW, Westin and of course the miserable Sheraton KL (but of course the 5 star hotels would be superior in the soft product of service/guest experience) It's a real pity however that Platinum Elite and higher bonvoy members no longer receive complimentary breakfast as an option. The RM15/stay (NOT even RM15/day) F&B credit is so miserably ridiculous, it probably is better not to even provide it, as it borders on being borderline insulting. We tried the dinner set menu at the hotel's restaurant, which was relatively good value for money, but the experience was plagued by inattentive and slow service staff. We were seated at a corner of the empty restaurant, and i often had to stand up and look for the staff. Food also took a long time to arrive. Our colleagues who arrived later, reported similarly dismal slow service with their orders taking an hour to arrive. Other suggestions for improvement would be to install a slow-closing door mechanism as the main room doors are really heavy and sturdy (we didn't hear any noise from the outside during our stay). The kitchen area could do with brighter lighting, and the door stoppers (both the toilet and room doors) were falling off, so would need filling up of the screw holes and re-attaching. Finally, better signs in the carpark of where the lift lobby to the hotel is would be welcome. I think the world of this property, even considering it our first choice in KL, for the great value it offers and how new/well-maintained the rooms/facilities are... Across the 20-30 of 4 and 5 star hotels we have visited in SEA, Element would be an easy 10/10 or even 11/10 rating if not for the unfortunate downgrading of complimentary elite breakfast. With a few minor upgrades, perhaps Element KL could become a higher-tiered 5-star hotel in future - for example, larger/thicker towels, changing plastic toilet seats to ceramic ones, installing TV consoles and implementing a lounge. p.s. Kudos to Wan, the Guest Service Manager, for his thoughtful email response to our initial review on the Marriott platform. While it likely still is AI-assisted or uses a strict corporate template, I observed the human touch/input that was far from the AI-slop, copy-and-paste responses to reviews that have become the norm across other Marriott hotels worldwide.
