My 6 bedded dorm room is on the 3rd floor (had to climb 3 flights of stairs). American numbering would be 4th floor. No easy on the old knees although there was a landing on each staircase. I was quite pleased with the bedding and the blanket wasn't the thick type so I presumed it was washed after 3 uses. I did bring a sari shawl to cover my face. The bath towel was ok. As stated by another guest, it is the problems with fellow dorm mates (the other guests on that floor, not so) The instructions on the door of a larger dorm rooms stated that after 11 pm, dorm residents are asked to turn down the volume of their devices. Unfortunately this middle eastern woman decided it was ok to use her laptop until past 3 am. It wasn't on full blast but still her laptop was just 2 feet away from the head of my bunk bed. Suffice to say I didn't get much sleep that night and I had to get up at 5.30 am to catch a bus to a convention 25 km away. The management should strictly state that residents should use ear buds/in ear earphones after 11 pm. The dorm room are small and cramped and with the bunk beds being in such close proximity, it would hardly be considerate to have this low irritating noise buzzing, inches from your ears. There is an iron with ironing board on the ground floor next to the reception. There are water heaters in the 2 bathroom. The first one had a rain shower with a hand held. Bit of tricky using it. Shower gel is provided but hard to pump out the liquid soap. There are a few clothes lines out in the open at the back of the guesthouse. Didn't go check out the roof top terrace. There is no fridge/stove. The microwave oven is spoilt. There is a water filter in the small pantry area. Toilet paper is provided but no slippers. I think guests are supposed to take off their footwear before entering the larger dorms. Didn't see any instructions to that effect. The lockers (bring own locks) are outside the dorms on the right side as you walk along the corridor. I think there are about 5 units. The rest cannot be locked because the keys no longer worked

Downstairs area is not too bad to sit and eat or use WiFi. Staff we saw later on seemed a little friendlier. Location is good for cheap food like Indian and Chinese. Downstairs area is not too bad to sit and eat or use WiFi. Staff we saw later on seemed a little friendlier. Location is good for cheap food like Indian and Chinese. Not to far to walk to the train station too. AC worked well. First impressions weren’t great. Check in was very simple and nothing like breakfast etc explained. Room smelt like feet and there was no window. WiFi didn’t reach the room. Area around the hostel is also a little rough.
