I recently stayed at The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur for 2 nights in a Club Lounge access room, and it was truly a memorable experience. The stay started on a high note with a personalized check-in at the Club Lounge, which even has its own private lobby entrance—such a nice touch that immediately makes you feel exclusive and well taken care of. The staff throughout my stay were consistently warm, attentive, and professional. One of the biggest highlights was definitely the Club Lounge experience. With five meal presentations daily, it felt like a full culinary journey. The breakfast spread was slightly limited compared to the main restaurant, but it was thoughtfully curated and more than sufficient—plus, it was a peaceful alternative to the usual breakfast crowd (no need to battle for roti canai!). The light lunch offerings were simple yet satisfying, with salads, sandwiches, and soups. I didn’t manage to attend afternoon tea, but the evening cocktail session more than made up for it—it was essentially a mini dinner with an impressive selection of alcoholic beverages. Supper was another pleasant surprise, where I could still enjoy lighter drinks like a Malibu Sunset—absolutely delicious. A special shoutout to Mr. Bahar from the Club Lounge team, who was one of the most attentive and professional staff I’ve encountered. He would refill drinks without being asked and crafted some of the best cocktails during my stay. Truly exceptional service. The room itself was spacious and comfortable. While slightly dated, it had a very homey and cozy feel. The white marble bathroom was beautiful, complemented by luxurious Diptyque amenities. The butler team also went above and beyond with turndown service without being requested, and even surprised me with a birthday cake, which was a lovely and thoughtful gesture. I didn’t get to use the gym or pool facilities, as part of the pool and jacuzzi were under maintenance during my stay. Late check-out wasn’t available due to high occupancy, but the team kindly allowed us to continue using the Club Lounge until it was time to leave for the airport, which I truly appreciated. Overall, this remains one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in Kuala Lumpur. Exceptional service, a fantastic lounge experience, and thoughtful touches throughout. I will definitely be returning.

Recently stayed at The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur and overall had a pleasant experience, though there are a few areas that could be improved. The property itself is beautiful—the finishes throughout the hotel are elegant, and the rooms are very well done. The spa is especially lovely, and the bar area is a great place to unwind. That said, there are some details that detract from the overall luxury experience. The carpets in the rooms feel quite rough and really could use replacing. The beds are also very firm—if you’re used to plush beds like those at a Four Seasons, I would strongly recommend requesting a mattress topper in advance. The food was another area that didn’t quite meet expectations for a Ritz-Carlton. It wasn’t bad, but it lacked the quality and refinement you’d expect at this level and could definitely be improved. Service, however, was fantastic across the board—warm, attentive, and professional throughout the stay. As a Titanium member, I had access to the club lounge, which was a highlight. It’s a great space with food and beverage offerings available almost all day, which added a lot of value to the stay. I didn’t receive an upgrade, which was completely fine, but I was a bit surprised to be placed on a low floor right by the elevator, which made the room feel less private and more high-traffic than expected. Overall, a beautiful hotel with excellent service and amenities, but a few comfort and food-related improvements would elevate it to where it should be.

Nice hotel. But not 5 star. Smooth check in with friendly doormen. The reception team were quick to go through amenities, however we did not feel we have enough time to ask questions or feel welcomed. Very small lobby area that was convenient but not particularly inviting. The hotel location is excellent near Bukit Bintang. TRX and Pavillion malls. Well connected to local amenities. We stayed in a suite which was well serviced, however the room lacked decor and the bathroom were basic. The suites need updating and refurbishment as they were tired and signs of mould, cracked paint and general wear and tear. We always enjoy breakfast but found this to be terrible in this hotel. Restaurant staff as miserable, inattentive and we felt like a burden for any request. The food was cold, undercooked and of you attend later in the morning (9am) then there is barely anything there as items are not restocked. Cooked meats were cold and the chicken sausages were served frozen on one day which we complained about. Overall good location, good potential but definitely 3-4 star at best.

This property gets a mixed review-if I could give it a score it would be 3.5. I stayed here for a few nights in a King Club room before my friend joined me and we moved to a twin. Starting with the positives: the location is fantastic, right in Bukit Bintang but not on the busier loud roads. The hotel is in a traditional style and service overall was above average. The Club rooms and service seem much better and the staff were really great. Some issues that need addressing. Club lounge: Could have a larger food/drink selection. For example in the morning they lack things like cream cheese to go with the salmon, more pastry/bagels etc. There were limited fruit and vegetables. Evenings there is a small selection of hot foods and they need more snack type things. Staff in the lounge excellent. The property overall: needs refreshing and updating. The Club lounge is dated and they could have more seating. A lot of unused space and sort of has an old club feel but not in a good way necessarily. The rooms looked ok at a glance but lots of sticky cupboard doors, loose fixtures, lacking plugs, and the frustrating thing with one set of elevators, on the club side and oddly if you do not have a club room the key cards will not take you to the ground floor, forcing you to get off at the 1st floor and drag your luggage down a set of escalators, which resulted in a wheel being broken off my large luggage. Things like the restrooms in the property do not have any paper towels to dry your hands, only small facial tissues. This seems easily rectified. Rooms: As I said, a bit dated. Huge complaint with the twin rooms only having very small single beds, not really sized for an adult to sleep in and I almost fell out of bed one night. This seems to be an odd choice when two doubles would easily fit. The rooms are nicer on the club level felt the regular ones were average. Other issues: The adult pool was closed for renovations and this was never communicated to guests prior to or even at check in. Very disappointing. The change rooms for the spa were quite nice, the gym has some non functional equipment. All of the small issues add up and honestly this is not a Ritz Carlton level RC, but if you can overlook some of these things or they improve and update the property, it would be a nice choice. Next time I will try elsewhere.
