We stayed here two times, in different rooms, so this is an amalgamation of those visits. In both cases the room was fairly spacious, with a comfortable bed. The shower is large, with plenty of hot water. Bottled water is provided. There is a safe and fridge in the room. Both rooms had balconies, one was facing the street (nice view but a bit noisy), while the other faced the rear of the hotel, which was quiet with a nice view of trees. Wifi was generally weak (variable based on which room we were in). Breakfast was available for additional cost, but there are also a few good restaurants nearby (for breakfast, lunch or dinner). The location of the hotel is very good. It's in the leafy, green, La Canada area, which has many tourist amenities and is a very pleasant to walk around. Outside of this area, Palenque is pretty rough and not very desirable to visit. The staff is friendly and there is 24-hour reception. They can also arrange transport through a local tour agency. We booked airport pickup in Villhermosa and included a visit to the archaeological park there to view the Olmec statues. Definitely worth it! Taxis are easily available outside the hotel and the collectivos pick-up and drop-off nearby. It was easy to get to the archaeological site by taxi (they walk you through the stops required to get tickets and then drop you at the actual entrance to the ruins), then after our visit we caught a collectivo to get back to town without any issues. The hotel also has a pool, which is nice on a hot day after walking around the ruins! The only downside to this hotel was there was only one electrical outlet each side of the bed, limiting what you could plug in and use at at time, however there were other outlets across the room for charging devices.

“Nice hotel with a pool ”

We went there pretty late and left early the next day but the rooms were clean and the breakfast was fine. Employees were helpful and friendly. Also the pool looks cool. It can be more enjoyable for the people wanting a relaxing vacation in a hot summer town.

Hotel Chablis is a great option if you plan to visit Palenqué. Palenque itself doesn’t have that much to offer your typical tourist but this small section of town is beautiful. It is full of trees and parrots and a flagstone street. There are plenty of places to eat and bars to drink at and a few stores for shopping. There is no grunge so maybe a bit unrealistic, but hey, you’re on vacation. The hotel itself surrounds an open courtyard with a pool and spa. There is a restaurant on site and you can arrange tours through the front desk. All rooms have a balcony or patio which is nice for when a good rain comes through and cools things down. There is no elevator so plan your luggage or room accordingly. The rooms seem fairly recently redone and are in good shape and very pleasant. There is a safe in the room, but no refrigerator. The staff is friendly and helpful, particularly Rosaura who was very helpful with her English skills. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.

“Basic but good value.”

Basic low budget hotel. Good bed, shower and airco. Good à la carte breakfast in the restaurant of the hotel. Good location to explore the restaurants on foot. Late afternoon rather noisy at the pool.
