We spent 10 days at this hotel and we were very well treated. The rooms are basic but functional and clean. the TV and air condition were in good working order, and we had WiFi which allowed us to be in contact with family. The location of the hotel is great since there are many restaurants within walking distance. The food in the hotel restaurant was fresh and made as you ordered it, my son loved it.

Read a few of the other reviews and I couldn't disagree more. We spent 7 days at the hotel and I found the staff to be extremely helpful. The rooms were not fancy, but clean, air-conditioned, good wakeup service so we could catch our 6AM tours, view of the Town Plaza (Our room) cable TV and right on the town plaza and a block from 2 good, inexpensive restaurants. Was there for the last night of the Mexican Independence Day and the plaza entertainment was great. Maybe it was the time of year (Mid-September) and maybe I am easy to please, but at $550 pesos for 2 people, I was pleased.

The Hotel Palenque is located 50 paces from the main plaza in front of the church with many restaurants nearby. It has a decent pool, kitchen and small bar. Although the hotel is tired and needs a facelift, it was clean, comfortable and was priced reasonably (~$39 per night). The humorous aspect of the hotel is that they display above the rooms and throughout the lobby nostalgic household items like kitchen items and early PCs, telephones, etc. The hotel even has a small room devoted to its collection. Although the collection is not worth much now, it a hundred years these objects will have historical significance and more value...sort of like the hotel...should it survive. All in all, the hotel served its purpose, and I give it 3-stars.

well my family stayed one night here and decided it was lame and we found another less expensive hotel. here is the thing, if you are in Palenque mexico you are mildly adventurous, you realize that your head will not get chopped off by the locals and you are enchanted by the amazing culture, our shower had no hot water and when we called we were not called back. our room boasted to have internet it did not , the beds were very old as were the matresses, the safe box we were told was not usable, and the ac even though we didnt use it looked like trouble if we did, alright for some up sides, the staff was nice and there was someone to talk to if need be, there is a pool , a restaurant, your room comes with continrntal breakfast, which was nothing to talk about, coffee was good, It is centrally located which is a really nice thing and guides are at the hotel all the time.
