This is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at in the entire world. It's definitely a hidden gem and location is perfect for exploring the Centro Historico. We got a Junior King Suite (370 s.f.), it's got a sitting room and a bedroom with 2 large LG flat screen TVs. You get a refrigerator and a Nespresso machine, with unlimited bottled water daily. Our room package included a cooked breakfast every day (8 AM to 12 PM), and there were plenty of choices on the menu. We were able to fill up in the morning and then ate our dinner at 4-5 PM. Speaking of dinner, the hotel restaurant (Tezontle) is outstanding and specialized in Oaxacan cuisine. We ate there 3x during our week here! Service is impeccable and everyone we spoke with seems to be happy and helpful. Because of World Cup construction and teachers protest, it's difficult to get into the Zocalo currently. We were able to find a back-door entrance to the Templo Mayor and the Cathedral Metropolitano. Several subway stations are closed and Uber drivers don't like to come here! Fortunately it was easy to take a secret passage underground from the plaza in front of the hotel to the Pino Suarez metro station (Line 1), and we actually went to Chapultapec Park on three separate days. The park isn't crowded on Monday though Friday but it is crazy on weekends. Everything in this property is top tier. In most world cities a hotel of this quality would have cost double what we paid to stay here. One of the major complaints in other reviews is the constant smell of cannabis smoke emanating from the plaza across the street --- this didn't bother us because it reminded us of San Francisco or Berkeley CA.

We stayed at this lovely boutique hotel in Centro for a few nights. The location is great, very central and in walking distance to museums and restaurants. The staff are very friendly and ready to help. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, well appointed and quiet even considering it was facing the busy square where the hotel is located. Breakfast was delicious and included many local food options, as well as tasty fresh fruit and freshly squeezed juice. I would certainly recommend this hotel and stay here again in the future.

Lovely 18-room hotel in a sympathetically renovated old building just five minutes walk from the main square, Zocalo and close to two metro stations. Rooms are very comfortable, clean and spacious. The shower was excellent, with lovely toiletries from L'Occitane. Breakfast is included and is super delicious (fresh fruit, bread, Mexican specialties, omelets and porridge). The top floor restaurant, Tezontle, was a real highlight: Oaxacan with a modern twist and excellent cocktails and a huge range of mescals. The front desk service was superb: really helpful and friendly. Note that many don't have exterior windows and instead look into a light sunny covered central courtyard. And there's not a lot of soundproofing, so bring earplugs!

I really wanted to like this hotel, but it was ultimately a disappointment. Location is a hundred metres or so from the main square and the area seems lively. Check-in was efficient and friendly, first impressions were great - it's an old building that's been interestingly converted to a small hotel. I think some (most?) of the "standard" rooms lack an outside window, just glass doors to a courtyard - my room had a window & small balcony overlooking the street behind, which was lovely. The in-house restaurant served an excellent dinner on a terrace. So far, so very good. However, the shutters don't properly keep out the light so the blackout was not only poor, but the light was pretty much exactly shining in my eyes. The room was very noisy, both from the street and the terrace restaurant which was directly above. The WiFi kept just going off, both in the evening and the next morning. The shower is a good size, with decent water pressure, but the floor doesn't drain properly, so there are dirty looking stains where the water just sits. Not good, not acceptable. Breakfast in the downstairs part of the restaurant was tasty, but it's from a limited "free breakfast" menu section - anything else is extra. that's not a free free breakfast, especially when the staff pester for a tip in cash. Overall, I really don't think I'd stay again.
