Had an amazing 3-nt stay at the Casona. The property was beautiful & staff exceptional, especially Carlos. He was so accommodating, including helping me set-up a massage appt, pointing me to some good local food options, & even helping me get a FIFA match going in-room when I was having difficulty. The customer service I received from Casona staff during my stay was elite & I hope to be back in the future.

This is a beautiful place to stay! The location is fantastic, the food is excellent, and every member of the team is warm, friendly and professional. The rooms are immaculate, beautifully designed and incredibly comfortable. The only downside—and unfortunately it's a significant one—is the noise. We arrived on a Friday and, after two sleepless nights, the hotel kindly moved us to a quieter room. From our original room, we could hear conversations, clinking glasses and cutlery, and loud music from the rooftop bar until the early hours. I'm not sure whether there's a solution, but it's the one thing preventing us from returning. If you're visiting Sunday through Wednesday, you may be fine, as I believe the rooftop bar is closed those nights, but it's worth checking with the hotel before booking if you're a light sleeper. On a positive note, I can't say enough about the wonderful staff. They clearly take great pride in both the hotel and their beautiful city. A special thank you to Josué, who was an absolute delight and always had a fantastic recommendation. ¡Muchas gracias to everyone!

My husband and I stayed five nights at Casona Roma Norte, and for most of that time I would have written a glowing review. The location is excellent, and the amenities are genuinely special: complimentary wine on arrival, coffee and pastries each morning, bathrobes and slippers in the room. The staff were, with one exception, outstanding. Josué in particular made us feel like family, and he’s the reason I’d hesitate before writing this hotel off entirely. The exception was Maria, the manager. We saw her frequently over five nights and she never once greeted us or acknowledged us until we had a problem and asked to speak with her. On our last night, we returned from dinner and I discovered the toilet wouldn’t refill after flushing. The faucet had no water either. When I called the front desk, I was told there would be no water until 6 a.m. No notice had been given to our room. I asked how we were meant to use the bathroom in the meantime; the gentleman on duty kindly offered to bring bottled water and a bucket for flushing. He handled an impossible situation as well as anyone could. The next morning, I raised it with Maria that a scheduled water shutoff with no advance warning is not acceptable at a hotel charging $500 a night. She apologized, but immediately blamed the employee on duty, saying he was supposed to have notified every room. When I asked for a refund for that night, she said no. Only when my husband expressed his frustration did she relent, saying she’d need permission for a partial refund and that it would be deducted from the employee’s pay. That detail has stayed with me. Throughout, she was abrupt and, at points, openly rude, apologetic in word but not in manner. After we got home, she emailed to confirm a partial refund had been processed: $100 on a $500 night, for a room without running water. The property deserves better management. If you stay here, you’ll likely have a lovely time, the building, the amenities, and people like Josué are the real draw. But if anything goes wrong, don’t expect the person in charge to make it right, and know that the staff who do take care of you may be the ones who pay for it.
