We recently stayed for 5 nights here and it was a very comfortable stay. Location is very central. The staff, right from the front desk to the restaurant are extremely friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. I would especially like to thank Vanessa and Victor at the front desk for all their help. Breakfast is a huge spread and I got a different vegetarian option each day. Thank you for a lovely stay and I would highly recommend this place

I recently posted a review of another Marriott property where I felt that Marriott Bonvoy elite benefits were being treated as an inconvenience rather than a commitment. My experience at Le Méridien Mexico City was the complete opposite. I am a Lifetime Titanium Elite member with Marriott Bonvoy, with more than 1,300 nights stayed at Marriott properties worldwide, and this hotel reminded me exactly why I have remained loyal to the brand for so many years. From the moment we arrived, it was obvious that this property understands something that many hotels seem to forget: Elite recognition is not just about checking procedural boxes. It’s about genuine hospitality. Above-and-Beyond Customer Service We arrived in Mexico City to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Prior to arriving, I had arranged for flowers to be delivered to the hotel, but unfortunately those plans fell apart at the last minute. While riding from the airport to the hotel, I contacted who I thought was the concierge to explain the situation and see if there was any possible way to salvage the surprise. That person turned out to be Victor, the General Manager of the hotel. Rather than handing the request off or giving me reasons why it couldn’t be done on short notice, Victor simply said he would take care of it. And he absolutely did. In a little over an hour, the hotel managed to: * Arrange roses for the room * Prepare a special cake * Decorate the room with birthday balloons * Completely rescue what I thought had become a failed birthday surprise It was phenomenal. What impressed me most wasn’t just that they accomplished it so quickly — it was the attitude behind it. Nobody acted inconvenienced. Nobody treated it like a transaction. The staff approached it with the mindset of: “How do we help create a memorable experience for this guest?” That is what real hospitality looks like. Elite Recognition Done Right Throughout the stay, the hotel consistently demonstrated that they genuinely value Marriott Bonvoy elite members. The property was undergoing renovations during our visit, yet the staff still went out of their way to ensure our family was well cared for. Our two sons joined us during the trip, and the hotel upgraded them into an excellent room. Our own room was initially selected because it was particularly well suited for the birthday celebration, even though it was not the upgraded option. A couple of days later, the staff proactively moved us into an upgraded room so we could enjoy both experiences during the stay. That kind of thoughtful handling is rare. Instead of mechanically applying rules, the team clearly focused on maximizing the overall guest experience. Leadership Matters Victor and his staff were consistently exceptional throughout the trip. Whether we needed restaurant recommendations, help navigating the city, or advice about places to visit, the staff was engaged, knowledgeable, and eager to help. One moment perfectly captured the culture of the hotel. At one point we were discussing whether to use the Mexico City Metro system and realized we weren’t entirely sure where or how to purchase transit cards. Rather than simply giving directions, Victor handed us his own personal transit card to use. That small gesture said everything. Hotels do not create service cultures like this accidentally. This is what happens when leadership genuinely cares about hospitality and empowers staff to solve problems for guests rather than hide behind policies. Bottom Line Le Méridien Mexico City delivered one of the best Marriott experiences I’ve had in years. Yes, the hotel itself is excellent. But what truly sets this property apart is the people. Victor and his team understand that great hotels are not defined only by rooms, décor, or amenities. They are defined by how guests feel when they stay there. This hotel made us feel welcomed, valued, and genuinely cared for throughout our visit. For Marriott Bonvoy elite travelers, this property is an example of how elite recognition and customer service are supposed to work. Highly recommended.

During my trip through Mexico, I stayed at several different hotels, and I have to say that La Meridian truly stood out. As someone who travels frequently for business, I really appreciate when a hotel goes the extra mile with customer service—and they absolutely did. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed. I even received a room upgrade, which was a great surprise. The team at the front desk made my family feel genuinely welcome and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. They also offered a complimentary breakfast for my son that wasn’t part of our original booking. We didn’t take advantage of it every day, but the gesture itself made a huge difference. It’s those unexpected touches that leave a lasting impact. Even if those perks aren’t available next time, the level of care and hospitality we experienced would easily bring me back. After a long day of travel, being greeted by a friendly, attentive staff at check-in means a lot. That warmth and professionalism is what truly sets a hotel apart. Out of the four different hotels I stayed at during this trip, across various brands, La Meridian was by far the best. Thank you for making my trip so memorable.

I recently stayed at Le Méridien Mexico City and had a mixed experience that really comes down to people vs. property. On the positive side, the staff absolutely makes this place shine. Every interaction—from check-in to housekeeping—was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. It’s the kind of service that makes you feel taken care of throughout your stay. The location is another major win: very central and convenient for getting around Mexico City, and I felt safe at all times both in and around the hotel. The lobby-level bar and dining area were also highlights—beautifully presented food and drinks that were consistently delicious. And compared to many city hotels, the rooms are notably spacious, which is a big plus. That said, the property itself falls short of what you’d expect from the Le Méridien brand. Even accounting for the ongoing renovations, the hotel feels quite dated throughout—from the lobby to the guest rooms. The furnishings come across as inexpensive, the finishes feel pieced together rather than thoughtfully designed, and the overall aesthetic leans heavily on stark grays that feel out of step with a more modern or vibrant design sensibility. It lacks the polish and cohesion you typically find at other Le Méridien properties around the world. Bottom line: if friendly service, a great location, and larger rooms are your top priorities, this hotel is passable. But if you’re expecting a more elevated, design-forward experience consistent with the brand—or even with other Marriott properties—there are likely better options in Mexico City.
