As a celebration for our friend's birthday and my retirement, our group of three booked two rooms (a single and a double room suite) at Hotel Xoma for four nights and had a genuinely marvelous time. My friends are frequent international travelers and with my family of four, I travel less frequently and less adventurously. Either quality of traveler will be exceedingly happy at Hotel Xoma. We were on the fifth floor with a beautiful view of the sunrise every morning and our friend was on the second floor and though he heard some bar noise one night out of the four we were there, he also saw a monkey jump a tree right outside his window. Each member of our party's expectations were exceeded in every regard. The rooms are squeaky clean and our two bedroom suite all we could've wanted or needed: a refrigerator, oven, microwave, stovetop, wine glasses, coffee maker, dishwashing soap, sponges, and plenty of plates and cutlery. There were flower vases and glass storage containers for meals you wanted to store or fruit you want to buy at the Mercado. You could host a dinner party in the two bedroom suite. We had two large water bottles on the kitchen counter and a small water bottle in the bathroom for your tooth brushing. There is daily housekeeping service and the floors and cleaning were squeaky-clean. The water pressure in the shower head was great. The two bedroom suite had a master bath with a spa bathtub and the second bedroom had two beds with a separate bathroom and a shower only. In the morning on the rooftop, light breakfast items of bread, pastry, fruit cups, whole milk yogurt cups with rose petals, and chia puddings with granola were set up. Two marmalades or jams and two types of honey were set out. There was regular milk and oat milk along with coffee and a hot water dispenser. There is a little elementary school directly next door and it may get a bit schoolyard loud in the early morning when you're outside on the pool deck, but it was not audible in our fifth floor room or in our friend's second floor room. At the front desk, Sergio was lo mejor, absolutely superb with every request great or small; he was able to secure us reservations at Contramar and meds from a local pharmacy delivered within 15 minutes for my friend's back spasm. Also at the front desk, Diana was attentive, eager to assist and provided wonderful recommendations to local taco places, a grocery store, and a pharmacy. She guided me to the laundry machine and the breakfast on the pool desk, she was an absolute pro and excellent at her job. Guillermina at the lobby was knowledgeable, kind, gracious and also provided us help with our luggage as well as local taco joint recs. Overall, the stay at the Xoma rivaled my family's stay at the Ritz Carlton residences in O'ahu and as soon as I returned home, I looked at our family's calendar to book a suite for my family for a quick return. Although there was a turntable in the room, the records were scratchy and the speakers were shot. There is an ipad with the hotel amenities and services on it. Each room had plenty of lights/reading lights, and US plugs for chargers, et al. We walked throughout the city and I visited Condesa, Polanco, and I thought the Roma neighborhood was absolutely charming. I would want to stay here when I return. In large part due to Xoma, my first trip to Ciudad de Mexico was warm, gracious, luxurious. I can't wait to bring my family back to say and I will likely hug Guillermina when I do.

The Xoma is a small complex of beautiful apartments in the Roma Norte area of CDMX. It is in a great location, surrounded by a wide selection of bars and restaurants. We stayed for a week in October and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The main purpose of my review is to highlight the help and support given by the staff working in the Xoma. Everyone we met there was friendly, pleasant and helpful. In particular, I would like to highlight the help given to me by Sergio when I lost my phone; Sergio dealt with the Uber driver involved to manage the situation, negotiating with him on the phone, up to the point of meeting the driver outside the hotel in order to retrieve my phone. I couldn’t have managed this without his help. Thank you again Sergio for all your help sorting out this issue.

“Design Luxury Hotel”

We stayed 5 nights in Suite 202, which is one of the Luxe Suites. It is a spacious 1227 square feet, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom luxury living space. In the main large open living area there is a fully equipped kitchen zone. All the appliances ( stove, fridge, dishwasher, microwave ) are full sized and the cupboards are stocked with dishes and glassware for 6 people. This included champagne flutes, wine glasses, coffee cups and saucers as well as a set of full service silverware, which was a contemporary bronze colour. You could easily go shopping at the Sumesa Colima grocery store 6 minutes away, stock up the fridge for a week and make all your meals for you and 5 others. Something to consider when planning out your vacation budget, especially if you are planning a long term stay. Also just to note that every morning there is a complimentary continental style breakfast of coffee, fruit, toast and pastries served from 8 to 10 am on the rooftop terrasse. The choice is limited, but enough to start the day. There is also a priced minibar with cold pop and beer in the fridge and hard liquor ( including tequila and mezcal ) on a small bar trolley in the living room. The kitchen area is finished up with a broom closet where you found the iron and ironing board and the garbage and recycling bin. Laundry, dishwasher and dish detergents are provided. The hotel has a 24 hour laundromat in the basement of the building. The ceilings are at least 12 feet high with floor to ceiling windows. The exterior of the building is clad in a white cement grid structure, which blocked the view and the light from the inside a little bit, but also created dramatic lighting effects as the sun streamed through the grid in the early mornings and late afternoons. It also reduces the sun’s heat. The dining area has a long table with six chairs and the living room has a large flat screen TV, 2 side chairs, a long sofa positioned so that it divides the living area from the dining area. The seating is completed with a small bench that proved handy when tying your shoes. There is a Bose bluetooth speaker and even a portable turntable. We had a choice of 3 old records of vintage Spanish and Mexican singers, so we stuck with Spotify. The 2 bedrooms are very spacious with more than enough closet storage. The Master bedroom has a full sized ensuite bathroom with separate toilet, an enormous tub and an equally enormous shower. This ensuite is completely tiled in marble on the floor and all four walls. There are L’Occitane bath products which smell so good and luxurious. Between the wet zone of the master bath and the sleeping area is a large closet with a safe and a long counter with 2 sinks. The king sized bed was super comfortable, but the black out curtains did not close 100 percent, so there was some disruption to our sleep when the early morning sun cut across the bed like a laser. Eventually we jury rigged something with the ottoman and a couple of pillows to hold the blackout curtain against the wall to block out that Mexican sunrise. The second bathroom is equally elegant with a huge marble shower and fair sized sink and a toilet behind the door. This bathroom serves the second bedroom which has 2 queen size beds. This room is on the dark side of the building and has a smaller window than the master suite. As you may have guessed from this review, we adored our Xoma Luxe suite. It was a pure joy to return to this slice of heaven after a long day sightseeing or coming back home after dinner or a night on the town. Just to have the space to move around and relax was greatly appreciated. We also loved the full size fridge for storing wine and champagne. We loved the big marble shower with super water pressure. We appreciated the 2 liters of spring water that we were given on a daily basis. We loved the quick, precise and attentive service from all employees. The cleaners, the front desk, the rooftop attendant and the lobby staff. We loved the quality of the materials and the chic and elegant modern decor and the fact that the earthquake proofing of the building was seamlessly incorporated into the design of the suite and public areas. A sophisticated way to subconsciously signal to the occupants that all is well. We also loved the simple breakfast each morning beside the rooftop pool with the spectacular view of the tall towers on Reforma and of Chapultepec park in the distance. They have real lemon trees on this rooftop lounge and an abundance of succulent plants in big ceramic pots. The hotel is in a great location in the Roma Norte area of Mexico city. There are tons of bars, restaurants and cafés nearby as well as pharmacies, grocery stores, flower shops and ice cream parlors. The neighbourhood boasts many parks and every street is shaded with mature trees, some of them with beautiful flowers. The streets are clean, well maintained and we felt safe walking around late at night. Reforma avenue is about a 25 minute walk, the Historical Zócalo is a good 50 minute walk as is Chapultepec park. We also got around with Uber, who had fast and reliable service. There are a few fixable details that would push Xoma Boutique Stays firmly into the real luxury league of hotels. First off, the drip 10 cup coffeemaker needs to be changed to a Nespresso machine,with complimentary coffee pods. Secondly, the hotel must offer robes and slippers, especially to those of us who book a 2 bedroom suite. A third improvement would be more comfortable lounge style seating on the balcony. All we had was a tiny table with 2 hard chairs. Nothing defines luxury living better than sipping espresso in your bathrobe and slippers while lounging on your balcony daybed. Let’s hope that they take this last advice. But even as is, we have the Luxe Suite at the Mexico city Xoma Boutique Stays on our list of hotels to visit again.
