We had dinner at La Frida, located on the upper floor of Pueblo Bonito Vantage, and it was easily the highlight of our dining experiences in San Miguel de Allende so far. From the moment we arrived, the staff was exceptionally attentive and genuinely passionate about the food they were serving. They took the time to explain the origins of the locally sourced ingredients and the inspiration behind the menu, which made the experience even more memorable. The food was exquisite. After spending four days dining throughout San Miguel, this was, without question, our favorite meal. Every course was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The dessert deserves special mention—it was quite simply the best dessert we have ever had. What impressed us most was the level of commitment the entire team showed toward creating an outstanding guest experience. Their professionalism, knowledge, and enthusiasm were evident throughout the evening. We cannot recommend La Frida highly enough. If you’re visiting San Miguel de Allende and looking for a truly exceptional dining experience, this restaurant should be at the top of your list.

“One of our new "go to" restaurants in SMA.”

Beautiful grounds and restaurant. NOT in centro, so a huge plus with valet parking. Service was really incredible. The food was terrific from starters through dessert. Kudos to the chef and GM Rafael plus all the staff for a really top notch experience. The flavors and textures were well conceived and well executed. The presentation was very nice, and the quality of the food matched the high level of service and ambiance. The view was also stunning, but that's secondary to the meal itself. Very fairly priced as well. Definitely our new regular stop when we want a fine dining experience in San Miguel. I had the pulpo, and can't wait to try the ribeye.

So I really wanted to be able to give this a five star review, but there is enough issues where that’s really not honest. The hotel is very pretty and of course it’s brand new so everything was nice and polished. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated, and it was kind of cool to have a smart function for almost everything. The first issue with not being able to give it a really high rating is that its location is not super convenient. It’s not awful, but you do need to take a taxi or an our case rent motor scooters to really be able to get where you wanted to go. It’s really out of touch with the vibe and San Miguel. That being said it was very nice to be able to hang out at a big pool and relaxed atmosphere in the afternoons when we had nothing better to do. There were very very few guests when we stayed, which really took a lot of energy out of the feeling. The staff outnumbered us by a large amount, and that in itself creates a poor environment for enjoyment. You feel like you’re always being watched yet when you needed service maybe it took a little longer to happen. The food was pretty good up at La Frida, but downstairs the courtyard restaurant was very mediocre in food quality. It was also really strange that they don’t have a lobby bar or any place just to hang out and have a drink at the front and such a nice looking hotel. The other thing about the front desk area was that they pumped way too much cologne into the air. It was suffocating. On the positive side, most of the staff was helpful and friendly and could deal with our poor Spanish. I want to especially acknowledge Juan Carlos,, who took care of our luggage and pretty much anything else we needed to know. He was excellent.
