What an amazing resort to stay at. Excellent restaurant located on premises, free spring water (bring your own bottle), vending machines (with beer) for those late night munchies. Vending machines and food were not overpriced like they are at American Hotels. There is no markup on these items in Mexico, no import duties to pay. It's worth it to stop by for a night or two. The town, if you can even call it that, has another restaurant and there is two bars. They made a us margaritas while we swam in the pool and there is a small water fall area with fish that the the guest can swim at with the locals who are very friendly people. It's a safe town, just very tiny. Close by are some historical sights and an amazing waterfall and cave area where you can also swim, its a sinkhole and its 35 foot deep I believe, though life jackets and available for rent and a good idea in case you hit your head on a rock by accident. The resort is located in the jungle, so be prepared to see amazing wildlife. Monkeys scream from the trees and these rabbit like animal roams the grounds early in the morning. You will see Lizards as well. Go have an unique experience that no chain hotel can provide. Take that ultimate travel photo. Go out an explore, get out of your safe zone. Anthony Bourdain would approve of the Hotel Nututun!

The amenities are good with an extensive garden. Rooms are spacious and of excellent quality. Pool is too small for the size of the hotel; however it is well compensated with the access to a “balneario” offering good service and even access to a “cascada”. Major drawbacks are the total absence of reliable internet access, and the excentric location if you are deprived of autonomous transportation.

“Clean and charming”

The rooms were a bit tight but we made it work. The A/C in our room was very slow to cool; however, others in our party stated that their A/C was cold. The showers were spacious and the water pressure was ok. We visited in July, so the cool water felt good but someone visiting in December may find the water a bit cool. After all, this hotel is a bit rustic. The hotel staff was beyond helpful and courteous. There was plenty of free parking available and the grounds were well maintained and clean. The wifi was hit or miss, so if you need for business, don’t stay here.

We were with a tour group and stayed for one night. This was a large hotel complex with two and three levels in different section. The rooms opened onto an external walkway. The rooms were large, with two double beds, a wash basin and bench within the room and external to the bathroom. Excellent air conditioning was provided and needed. The room was clean and very comfortable. The external gardens and surrounds were well kept and very attractive. There was a large pool used by a number people from the group. We had an evening meal in the restaurant, tortas and taco, which were very good, although more expensive than many restaurants. The hotel is out of the village so, unless you have transport, the hotel restaurant is the main option. The breakfast provided to the group was a fixed menu of scrambled egg and toast.
