A nice spot with decent rooms at a fair price. Located in the town square you are in the centre of it all. The rooms are a good size with lots of seating. No kitchenette,but common fridge,microwave and coffee maker. You are close to the malacon and at least a dozen good places to eat. They are under new management and are upgrading every day,while not disrupting your stay. There is a bit of local noise at night,church bells etc. There is a night person on duty and it is very secure. Great staff. Jimmy D's restaurant is located there for breakfast and The Terraza restaurant for supper. Both having good food at average prices for the area. Currently no tv but the WiFi works well.

“Great little hotel!”

We really enjoyed or stay here. Right off the main plaza but still quiet with only a couple exceptions for a Mexican birthday celebration at midnight. You get the real flavor of Mexico here and spontaneous happenings in the main plaza. Isaac and the staff were terrific. Clean rooms, great location;… more

We really enjoyed or stay here. Right off the main plaza but still quiet with only a couple exceptions for a Mexican birthday celebration at midnight. You get the real flavor of Mexico here and spontaneous happenings in the main plaza. Isaac and the staff were terrific. Clean rooms, great location; what more would you want? It even has a community fridge to keep some food or drinks in. We would stay here again.

We stayed in unit 7 from May 14 - May 25, 2018. The location is just about perfect. It is right on the Plaza, by BBVA Bancomer (easy access to an ATM for cash which is good because Mexico is oriented to cash rather than credit cards), and a laundry where you can drop your clothes off to be washed, dried, and folded. Restaurants are nearby. The taxi stand is right across the street (open from 8 AM to 8 PM.) The staff were very nice and the front desk staff speak good English for those of us who don't speak good Spanish. The units are spacious, and as others have mentioned, even though there is no fridge or microwave, there are communal ones near the front desk. Now, some things to be aware of. This is an old colonial village, with old plumbing, and they want you to put your toilet paper in the wastebasket rather than the toilet. Just sharing in case that is a problem. They service the rooms daily, and take away the trash. We didn't notice any smells. The water comes from tanks on the roof, and during the hot summer (they say May-June is the hottest there) even the cold water can be hot from being warmed on the roof. No air conditioning. Only the bedroom had a ceiling fan so the living room could be stifling. Fortunately, I brought my own travel fan in my suitcase. They were having some troubles with the wifi when we were there. They knew about it, and had people working on it. Some of the routers are mounted on the outside of buildings, open to the elements. They had some boxes to protect them, but that kept some of the wifi signals from coming in our direction. There is no TV, but that isn't a problem for me. I get enough TV at home. The day we checked in, I looked at the pool, and it looked green. A few days later it was covered/closed. There was no restaurant, breakfast, or bar available during our stay, but the hot months are the slow season. I haven't been to other hotels in the area so it's hard to say how it compared. The property only has about 11 units, so it has an intimate feel. Overall, I liked it. Number 7 is towards the back of the property so street noise wasn't much of a problem, especially with my travel fan at high to cool me off which provided white noise. That's another advantage of not having a TV or radio in the rooms so the folks next door can't be blaring theirs! The ceiling fan in unit 7 wobbled a good bit. One person had a pet cat, but I'm not sure if he got special permission because he's a long-stay renter. Our room had a no smoking sign, so maybe all the rooms are non-smoking. I don't smoke so that's fine with me.

I'll start with the positives. Great location, right across the road from the plaza. Everything you need and want are within walking distance. The staff are extremely friendly and efficient and most spoke at least some english. The room we had, #6 was spacious and clean and never had a lack of hot water. The bed was a king size built in concrete base with a very comfortable, firm mattress. The sitting area was again, built in concrete bases with single mattress that function as sofas but can be used a single beds, if needed. No t.v. but wifi worked well most days. The restaurant where the continental breakfast is available, Jimmy D's everyday except Wednesday, was awesome. As my husband and I both prefer a hardy breakfast, we did not have the included breakfast, which consisted of fruit, toast and tea or coffee but instead ordered off the menu. We were never disappointed and the wait staff spoke excellent english. Since nothing is ever perfect, here are my negatives. Noise could be a problem if you are a light sleeper or are just not used to noise. The downside to the location is the noise from the plaza, parking dogs, music, the other guests, the occasional fireworks...not that it went on all day and all night but it can be noisy and inopportune times. There are no real amenities, at least in #6...no t.v., no mini fridge, no microwave although there was shared use of a fridge and microwave just off the lobby. The electrical outlets are a little iffy...some hanging out of the wall. My husband got a small shock from one of them and from the outlet for the outside light. The room, while spacious and generally comfortable desperately needs some updating...new tile, paint...electrical. The grounds themselves were nice however use of the pool is difficult as it is right beside the patio dining area...so when swimming you would be doing so next to other guests and people in general having breakfast or lunch. There are no lounge chairs if you just want to sit next to the pool and no room for them. We, therefore, did not use the pool. There are no other real outdoor areas if you want to sit outside and enjoy a cocktail or two. Generally, we had a great two weeks here. The best features are the location and Jimmy D's. All in all, for the price we paid, I would say we got good value for the money.
