Great experience overall! I was slightly put off by the initial price but the rooms are so nice! I had the Mayahuel which is not a barrel, but still beautiful! The rooms was clean and had all the necessary amenities. We dined in Cava (additional cost) and had breakfast at the restaurant (depending on the book, breakfast may be included). Both were decent, but I’ve had better. You can do a tour of the distillery which is included in the cost of the booking and can buy tequila on site. Noy was our guide and she was very kind and informative! As are the rest of those who tended to us! There’s honestly no need to leave the hotel jnless you want to do a different tour or go to Cantaritos El Guero! Would definitely book again!

I was so glad to have this experience. I booked this as part of a get-away. I can't speak to the value of the hotel because I did not pay for it, but our time at the hotel included complimentary breakfast, a tequila tasting, a tequila tour, and a horse-riding excursion. It was a lot of fun even in the heat of the day. While this is desert area, it never felt too cold in the morning or evening at this time of year. The rooms are old-fashioned tequila barrels with built out mini-decks to spend your evenings or mornings. The rooms are very modern and each has a different motif. I loved my sunset. The bathrooms are spacious with wonderful amenities including a gorgeous shower and very nice towels. They also provide complimentary water for most of the day, which is needed in this desert atmosphere. On site, there is both a dining hall for breakfast and a restaurant. The restaurant is expensive by Tequila or Guadalajara standards, but excellent pan-Mexican food and very high quality. The hotel is also co-located with one of the best tequila distilleries. It manufactures tequila for multiple brands, including and probably most famously Carlos Santana's tequila, Casa Noble. We enjoyed all the features on site including the tequila tasting, tequila distillery tour. There were several opportunities for complimentary tequila from check-in and free margaritas. We also took the opportunity to enjoy dinner in the sky on site which only happens once per year. It was a wonderful Mexi-Japanese affair. Wonderful, sensual flavors and a ton of fun. Two areas of potential improvement. The horse riding really should only be done by those familiar with horse-riding. These are authentic vaqueros, and their Spanish as well as their English is hard to discern, because they are truly country people. Their horses are well trained, but you'll be sitting on a bone saddle, and if you get into any trouble it's hard to communicate. The second is that in spite of the hotels complimentary bottles of water, you need a lot more than they afford you. I found myself over drinking at breakfast to make sure I was thirsty throughout the day. Make sure you stock up on complimentary water and grab some bottled water in town. That said, in the room there is also complimentary powder coffee and tea - chamomile and lemongrass. Internet and TV isn't the best, but your not here for those things. I had a great stay and would go back without hesitation.

If it wasn’t for Simon i’d have given this place two stars but his tequilla tour and general willingness to help made the trip worthwhile. If it wasn’t for Simon i’d have given this place two stars but his tequilla tour and general willingness to help made the trip worthwhile. Pros…barrels were clean and well kept,bedding good and great shower. Cons…trains going by every hour or so with horns blasting makes it hard to sleep. Restaurants were good but food was at best average and several meals were undercooked and no one cared. Asked if we could use the ramp to access instead of the stairs to the restaurant because one friend had hurt her foot and the owner suggested we get room service.

I would love to say this place is as amazing as the pictures on the website but I can not. When we arrived we drove through the gates and had to weave around delivery trucks that were blocking the entrance. The resort is not as secluded as the website makes it appear to be. It is smack in the middle of a neighborhood and the signage is not very easy to see. The check-in process was fairly easy. I will say the staff is very nice and accommodating. We were taken to our Barrel to check-in. Positives: It was very clean The restaurants were both very good. We asked for the soccer game the staff was happy to help and set it up for us while we had our meal. The restaurant staff were wonderful We ordered room service and it was perfect .. fast and efficient and again the food quality was great. The ground looks beautiful at night with all the lighting. We truly appreciate the people who work at the resort and their efforts to make your stay pleasant. Negatives: The TV was not set up for internet or streaming ( thankfully the kind staff immediately changed the TV out with what I think was theirs from the lobby. They did it quickly and we appreciated it). I would say if you are traveling from the US bring your coffee or get instant from the store. The coffee in the room was not worth the water to brew it. The resort has very little to do besides eat drink and sleep. The "river" was filled with dirty water and duck feces everywhere. There is a train that runs at night. The restaurants close early as well that's why we ordered room service for a snack later To sum it up .... Its not a resort I would recommend for more than 1 night and I would tell my friends to expect more of a "Glamping "experience.
