“Clean, comfortable budget-friendly hotel.”

I used my visa avion to book through points. Good prices. Check in was easy. Front desk staff very pleasant. The rooms are very nice. Extremely comfortable beds. Air conditioning top notch. Nice showers. Clean room. The one drawback, no mini fridge for the room we stayed in. They have them, just not our room, ask for a room with one. It really should be standard with a fridge in all rooms. Elevator a/c didn’t really work. Two floors, no big deal. Some construction happening. They also had no access ribbon posted up around both pools, so confusing if we could actually go for a swim. The other thing, being on the main road in Zicatela, the music from the boom-boom bars. I wore my earplugs, so no issue, my friend, not so lucky. Restaurant had good food, slow service.

Hotel Surf Olas Altas provided a solid experience. Would stay again!! The location is 10/10– right across from Zicatela beach, with a gorgeous and HUGE pool, the hotel is perfectly centered between restaurants, activities and nightlife. The only complaint is the very loud nightclub across the street that kept us up some nights, but if you can’t beat them, join them, so go check out Xcaanda and dance! Otherwise, there are dozens of quality restaurants and bars to choose from within a 5 minute walk. You can’t swim in the ocean right here, but taxis are cheap and fast to other swim beaches. My only complaint about this hotel regards the hotel room itself. A little paint could go a long way in updating the accommodations. Feels a tad dingy. The safe and hair dryer didn’t work. Not a huge deal. No deadbolt/second lock on the door made me a little uneasy. TV was small and staticky. Don’t depend on it. My balcony had a great view of the pool and ocean and the showers are awesome!! Air conditioning worked perfectly and was necessary. Staff was super nice, friendly and helpful. Hotel itself is pretty, arguably the nicest-looking in the vicinity. We spent little to no time in the room during the day, so it didn’t matter much that it felt outdated.

This is a clean and very well located hotel. It’s not fancy, but they clean the rooms really well every day and the beds were very comfortable. We did have to go to a different room because the shower sprayed all over and was unusable in our first room. The second room the shower was much better… more

This is a clean and very well located hotel. It’s not fancy, but they clean the rooms really well every day and the beds were very comfortable. We did have to go to a different room because the shower sprayed all over and was unusable in our first room. The second room the shower was much better, hot water was somewhat unreliable, but manageable. The sink faucet was very loose and we were worried it might fall off before we left, so it needs upgrades. However, the staff was always kind and accommodating, the pool was nice, and their location can’t be beat. The restaurant was very underwhelming. We only tried it once and I didn’t want to go back. Although that was for dinner, maybe breakfast is better? While the location is great, it is also near the local loud nightclubs. So there were some nights where Music blasted very late, but I was able to just put earbuds in and sleep through it. And yes, our key card did stop working once, but there was always somebody at the desk to help us. To me it was worth these minor inconveniences to have a comfortable bed, a clean room, kind and attentive staff and such a great location.
