“Small but clean, well located, reasonable, and friendly staff”

I stayed here for 5 nights in mid October for the Oaxaca FilmFest. The room was small, but very clean. Housekeeping was attentive. The room was very quiet (I was in a room away from the road), and the beds were fairly comfy (and I'm picky about beds). My only complaint is that there is no closet, just a bar on the wall to hang clothes from. Every member of the staff was friendly and helpful. There was a large and decent breakfast buffet. The hotel is in a nice neighborhood (I never felt unsafe) and only about a 15 minute walk away from the Santo Domingo Cathedral, a walk through scenic neighborhoods. On a side note, I will say that the cabs the hotel called for me on the rare occasions when I didn't walk sometimes tried to charge me more than cabs I hailed myself, but I soon learned that there is generally a flat rate to the town center (can't remember what it was) and if someone tried to charge more I would just offer that rate instead and they'd immediately accept. Overall a nice clean helpful hotel. Not sure I would stay here again, I'd go for something with a little more local style perhaps, but for what it is the hotel is great.

“Great hotel”

Met all of our needs: good breakfast, walking distance to downtown, helpful hotel employees. The hotel was clean, the elevators are quick, and the employees go out of their way to be helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is fine in that it is clean, and the AC blows cold. It's pretty straight forward in that regard, but it has no character, coffee is made from a syrup, the breakfast is merely edible, and it's situated at the extreme north end of the Colonial District. The hotel is fine in that it is clean, and the AC blows cold. It's pretty straight forward in that regard, but it has no character, coffee is made from a syrup, the breakfast is merely edible, and it's situated at the extreme north end of the Colonial District. There is a decent restaurant call XOXO located just around the corner, but they're only open in the evenings from 3:00pm to 10:00pm. Still, XOXO is recommended, especially to avoid having to walk too much at night for a good meal. The restaurant can be seen looking SE from the backside of the hotel.

Hotel location is decent. Room is basic and clean. This hotel has lots of staff especially at the restaurant but I had never seen it was run so inefficiently. Servers just stand around and talking to each other. I asked coffee for three times but was ignored every time. Someone has to teach the two guys at BK how to smile even they don’t know how to speak English. Worst service at any Marriott I had ever experienced.
