Just returned from 11 days at the resort and it could not have been much better. The staff were all fantastic! We had a great time durning the day with Francisco and Jose at the upper bar/restaurant and the evening staff with Ixtel and Eric were always there to make sure we were looked after!! Chester from the kitchen made sure we were always fed :) The housekeeping staff were amazing, our room was spotless every day and the bar fridge and water were refilled. The folded towel animals on the bed with the chocolates were a great added touch. The pool was spotless as was the entire pools area and everywhere on the property was immaculate. Some areas were more rustic than others but all were very clean and in great shape!! This is a smaller boutique type all inclusive resort. If you are looking for something a little more quiet but still having all the amenities, this is the spot for you. Most of the rooms are ocean facing, and there is enough variety in room choices to meet most everyone’s needs. This is definitely a spot we will be returning to!!

As our stay at Niru Ocean Suites in Santa Cruz Huatulco is coming to an end, we felt it was important to share just how wonderful our experience has been. From the moment we arrived, Andrea at reception immediately made us feel welcome. She explained everything clearly and thoroughly, answered all our questions, and set the tone for what became an incredible stay. Every single day, Lorena and Magally made sure our room looked spotless and lovely. Coming back to beautifully arranged beds and those adorable towel creations became one of our favorite daily surprises. It’s the small thoughtful details that truly make a difference. Dinner was always a highlight thanks to Magdalena and Itzel. They provided exceptional service and quickly learned about our “sweet tooth,” making sure we never finished our dinner without an extra dessert. Their attentiveness and kindness did not go unnoticed. Our amazing concierge team, Diana and Ulises, brought so much personality and warmth to our trip. Always ready with a joke, always helpful, and always making us feel at home. From Diana showing us her Macarena moves to Ulises teaching us Spanish, it was always such a pleasure seeing them. And of course, Freddie at the beach, always smiling and ready to make you the perfect drink. Overall, the hotel experience was fantastic. The hotel is so small that within hours you get to know everyone and feel comfortable. The location is incredible, but what truly makes this place special is the staff — always kind, always attentive, and always ready to help. Thank you, Niru Ocean Suites, for such a beautiful stay. We leave with wonderful memories and full hearts.

PLEASE READ! Like everyone else, we read all the reviews and were pretty stoked to go here based on those reviews. I'd say the reviews we read are a fair bit different than the experience we had. CHECK-IN On arrival, it was clear that the resort was quite busy. We were ushered to our room with no real direction or information. The check-in guy pulled out a piece of paper, highlighted a bunch of things with minimal explanation and then guided us to our room. No map. It was quite rushed, not exactly ideal, but just busy. ROOM When we arrived at our room, we realized we had made our first mistake. That being, booking the 'standard' room. This one is on us. The room itself was nice....roomy, well equipped, but not a good location. There was no deck and no view. We literally had a view of a cement wall and our deck doors opened to the pathway behind the building. All of the 'standard' rooms share the same properties. I'm assuming that since the resort was so busy, that was the reason why it was so noisy at night. The resort had loud music playing literally right outside our room. Not sure when they would normally turn it off, but it was still on and loud at 10:30PM. I called and they shut it off right away. We also heard the workers arriving at 7am in the morning. I'm pretty sure their access road was the road that entered on the back side of the 'standard' rooms. We asked about upgrades, but because it was so busy, we weren't able to upgrade for 4 nights. When we finally did, we were upgraded to a junior suite for the paltry sum of $1400CAN for 6 nights. The junior suite was amazing, great views and amenities, but holy sh!t, it was pricey. FOOD The food was not amazing. Not good, not bad. Just.....there. Fairly repetitive and some dishes that should have been warmer or even hot, were not. Lunch was decent, typical burgers, fries, onion rings. Decent buffet. I will give a shout out to the fish. They had garlic fish, butter fish and a spicy fish. They nailed these. Cooked to perfection, no bones and amazing flavour. Coffee was atrocious. We've been to many, many resorts throughout Mexico and the Caribbean and loved the coffee at those resorts. However, the coffee here was by far the worst. Literally, the coffee in the room was better than anywhere else on the resort. If I had a comparison, I'd say Folgers. Bleh. That being said, food was plentiful, but we did have to wait a couple of times for the breakfast buffet to be replenished. The dinner menu was good and I have to say, I was impressed by the options and the quality. I had the steak many times and it was quite good. Cooked to perfection and tender. My wife had chicken and salmon which she said was also very good. Buffet? So-so. SERVICE/SERVERS/STAFF When we read the reviews, so many people mentioned the staff and how amazing everyone was. For me, the staff here were no different than any other staff we've encountered throughout Mexico. We had some good, some not so good and some that were indifferent. We had a couple of times in the mornings where we had to get our own menus for the breakfast while we were watching 2-3 staff members talking with each other and looking at their phones. There were also more than a few times where we sat first, but given menus and attention after local families/people had been seated after us. I'd think maybe this was isolated to us, but there were a couple of other families there that experienced the same. This happened at both breakfast and dinner. Room cleaning was 1000%. Those people worked hard and nailed their jobs to perfection. They deserve a raise. One of the highlights of the trip was going back to our room after a long day out and seeing and smelling the cleanliness. Absolutely amazing. DRINK Nothing special here, generic hard liquors and Dos XX beer. Drinks were kind of all over the place, depending on the bar and even the bartender. I've never heard of white wine mimosas, but we had more than a few here, lol. By the end, we were making sure we ordered the mimosas with sparkling wine and not regular white wine. Mixed drinks were never consistent. I tried many different mixed drinks and honestly, if they were ordered from different bartenders, they were made differently. I think the resort would benefit greatly from a drink menu. That way, all bartenders could be trained to make the same drinks, the same way. GROUNDS/BUILDING The grounds and building are good. Could there be some maintenance done? Sure. But it was a very clean property. No garbage, stains or messes. It was very clean and IMO, maintained quite well. OVERALL The Nirú Ocean Suites By Binniguenda was a decent, 3.5* resort. We arrived during a Mexican holiday, therefore it was very busy. I want to be clear here, the last half of the trip was better than the first part as far as room and crowding was concerned. The food and service was consistent throughout our stay however. We had to get breakfast menus on our third day (super busy) and our last day (not busy at all). All in all, based on my experience of 30+ all inclusive trips throughout the world, a solid 3.5*

We arrived here after a 6 hour direct flight from Edmonton!!!! (get more direct flights). The taxi from the airport was excellent and quick. There were a couple of people ahead of us at checkin and I have never seen such an exhaustive list of signoffs from the room key bands (which were very convenient) to the towel cards and check in is a sit down experience. Staff brought us drinks and were very conscientious. We were shown to our room through a very circuitutous route ...two elevators with very confusing numbering. The room was fresh and very modern design. Only downside of the room is the coffee maker which makes horrid coffee. Also the walls are paper thin and you can here the staff talking on one side and "don't hurt me" blaring on someones phone on the suite next door. Dinner started at 7 and so we had a bit of time to kill and get unpacked. Dinner was a combination of buffet and a la carte. This included a grill menu as well as seafood options chicken and regular entrees. My husband had steak and I had the coconut shrimp. He found his steak a bit tuff but I loved the shrimp minus the hot sauce ( I asked for a sweet sauce but the staff did not understand). Desserts are sub par and not something outstanding here. Drinks on the other hand were great and the staff tried to make anything you asked for. Staff on the whole are very kind and do their best to accommodate you. I asked for a drink with fresh juice so they made me a lime drink. After we were tired from a day of travel and watched the news on tv. The tv has netflix and other streaming services but most of the offerings on the regular tv are in spanish and other than CNN BBC and few news stations in English the selection is limited. The next day we took a taxi to the downtown but due to the heat and the monotonous selection of touristy goods went back to the hotel after about an hour. Taxis are cheap to the downtown. (50 pesos/$4 cdn) We laid by the pool for the remainder of the morning and then had lunch. After lunch we went to see the lobster restaurant next door and were sorry that we could not try this as the lobsters they brought out to show us were enormous and very appetizing. We walked around the beach which was full of local families enjoying the Easter Weekend. The clientelle at the hotel is largely Mexican families and we were one of the few international families....very friendly and nice kids. Since we had checked in late in the day, staff arranged for us to have lunch even after the check out time....which we appreciated before we left on our ride to Peurto Escondido. We did not see any tours that interested us and so decided to enjoy our time
