“Didn't meet expectaions”

The bad: We reserved the whirlpool suite for four nights from their site but it wasn't ready for us when we arrived. We were given another room which would have met our needs but the a/c didn't work and we were moved again. This room had no exterior windows and was small. Didn't like the room placement due to lobby noises and what sounded like a fire detector battery beeping every 2 minutes echoing off the tile all night long, horrible. When we returned after dinner we learned there was no cold water going to the toilet so it didn't flush. I reported it at the desk and using google translate got the message 20 minutes. Fell asleep waiting but no one came. In the morning returned to desk (after a scalding shower) and had to argue that the toilet still didn't work! Moved again this time to a family suite because the whirlpool room didn't have cold water/ toilet either. This room was first floor and close to street noise, but large with beautiful windows and garden outside. For our third night we finally received the suite of our choice and even added a day to our stay. The room was great, upstairs, brand new, quiet, with a wonderful view of the snow topped mountains in the morning. The tub would have been perfect if the drain could hold water, I rigged it with a plastic baggie. Love the large walk in showers in all the rooms. None of the three rooms we stayed in received a wifi signal, but it worked fine in the common areas. Using a Spanish speaking friend we thought the inconvenience of having no toilet and the messed up reservation would result in one night cost being deducted from our bill but that didn't happen at checkout and without speaking Spanish ourselves we just paid and left. The good: Great people trying to help us. The bellhop, housekeeping and breakfast server were wonderful. Outstanding coffee with great breakfast every morning. Beautiful architecture and immaculate housekeeping. Nice location, quiet, 20 pesos from city center in taxi. Very nice to return home to after a day of sightseeing. Highly recommend room 132, whirlpool suite.

The property was a few blocks from the centro historico so we walked to the many points of interest from there. The hotel itself is very nice and clean with large rooms. Since we were there in mid-February, it was a little nippy and the heater did not really warm up the entire room. The bed was comfy so we slept soundly despite the room being a little cold; there was no hair dryer in our room but our camarista opened up one of the many empty rooms and had me use the dryer in that area. The staff was very accommodating and nice even tho hardly anyone spoke English, as is the case in most places in this area of mexico.

“Hotel Villa Las Margaritas”

Great service, not the best location, safe parking, small rooms, all rooms face the inside of the hotel, so there is not a lot of privacy, our room was the executive suite, window was literally in front of the main avenue, we planned to stay all weekend, but left after only one evening.
