We enjoyed the unbelievable beauty of the location, team and home owner, Patricia. If you enjoy outstanding mountain vistas, a homey, yet high level of quality, you may find yourself in a dreamy place, mentally, emotionally and physically. The gastronomy, wine and service might be the best combo we’ve experienced. It is a rural location with narrow and steep roads… that is what we were seeking in this area. I’d love to return to this magical setting. Love and hugs to the team!

I don't have words for this magical place. The rooms are spectacular, well-placed to take in the stunning beauty of the mountains in the area. Pool, although small, is delightful and refreshing. There is a restaurant on site, and breakfast was included in our room rate. They offer an extensive buffet-style breakfast, but you could ask them to make something and they would accommodate. Dinner every night, if you tell them you will be eating on site that day, is made fresh with local ingredients sourced that day. The rooms are spectacular. We stayed in the "deluxe" rooms that had outside spaces facing the mountains. There are also interior rooms but even the one I saw was lovely. I cannot recommend this place enough. I am trying to find a reason to go again! If you want to go into Granada, I imagine they could arrange a driver, but we had prearranged all that before we arrived. The owners and staff were magnificent and personable. They treat you just like family. MAGNIFICO!

If you're heading to the Sierra Nevada and want easy access to all the delights than Granada has to offer, look no further than staying at La Almunia del Valle. It is an absolutely delightful boutique hotel with a good eye for sustainability. Patricia and Manuel have created a bucolic paradise and their lovely warm personalities are firmly embedded throughout the gorgeous property. They are supported by an wonderful, friendly and very helpful staff who are always on hand to recommend day-trips, restaurants etc. We stayed in a standard terrace room which in my opinion has to be one of the top rooms! The terrace which is smothered by a vine is large and private (although we were visited on several occasions by the hotel's friendly feline, Rita!). The room itself was stylishly and comfortably furnished. The bed linen was the best I've ever experienced in a hotel and the bathroom was fabulous too! There's a great pool area with loads of sunbeds and recliners for snoozing in under ancient olive trees. Here you can get access to a well stocked honesty bar which offers soft and alcoholic drinks and a good variety of snacks. This bar is really convenient as there is no lunch on offer. The breakfast and set menu dinner get massive mentions! They are outstanding and served on a lovely terrace with stunning mountain views. Definitely the best breakfast we've ever experienced, with so much on offer and all produce is locally sourced. The dinner which comprises 5 courses, is out of this world and a gastronomic delight. At 40 euros per head it offers excellent value and is complemented by a great wine list too. Every night offers a different set menu and is always inspired by local cuisine. There are some great walks from the hotel, particularly the nearby river/canyon stroll which takes around 2 hours. We also headed up into the Sierra Nevada and treks with virtually no one else around are only 20 mins drive away. There's so much you can do from this hotel, you won't be bored. We will see you again La Almunia del Valle, as you have to be experienced more than once!

We came to this hotel on a road trip around Spain, mainly as it stated it was dog friendly and away from the busy coast. It is in the most beautiful setting in the mountains of the Sierra Navada, close to Granada. The access to the hotel up a 1.5 km single track road is a bit unnerving but not enough to put you off making the trip, although we chose not to walk into the local village of Monachil given the gradient of the hill. The views are simply breathtaking from every aspect of this simple, eco friendly and aesthetically charming hotel. The staff can’t do enough for you and have helpful tips about local sights and trips. Rooms are artfully organised to offer privacy and comfort. The guest menu each evening is a preplanned meal that you are notified of in advance .. using locally sourced produce, really delicious ! The views from the restaurant terrace are mesmerising .. sunset on the mountains opposite each evening were something to behold. Lovely pool and gardens and genuinely dog friendly. We will come again, thank you Pat .. you have made a lovely, relaxing and nurturing space for your visitors !!
