Located at the entrance of the Bay of Kotor, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mamula Island is a meticulously restored 19th century fort in Montenegro. You can arrive at Mamula Island by air (we have a helicopter pad) or boat. The closest airports are Tivat (TIV), Dubrovnik (DBV) or Podgorica (TGD). You can get a boat transfer directly from Tivat to the Island, or take a taxi from any of the airports to our nearest shoreline where a boat will bring you to the Island. Private helicopter transfers are available from Dubrovnik or Tivat airport. We can organize transfers upon request.
The Pool Deck is Mamula Island’s vibrant heart. Sitting at the center of the fort, it boasts three sleek pools (one salt, two fresh water). Sharing plates, appetizers, aperitifs, sweets and à la carte menus adapt throughout the day to provide an ever-changing gourmet feast. More than just a place for food though, the Pool Deck is a focal point for the true bon vivants.
The previously dormant islet is being revitalized to create a sophisticated destination featuring a luxury hotel concept and culinary offerings that embody Mamula's renowned Mediterranean cuisine, embracing the offerings of the land and sea and reflecting the micro-seasonality of the Montenegrin coast At the heart of the island and fortress’s footprint, the Pool Deck offers a casual all-day restaurant and bar, located next to three pools.

“Incredible hotel.”
We had a wonderful tour of Manila Island Hotel by the very knowledgeable and charming manager Dushan and had cocktails in one of the bars. Such a beautiful place with stunning rooms and gorgeous terraces. And the short boat trip over was an added bonus. Would love to return for dinner one day!

Mamula Island is a hidden gem! Beautiful, peaceful, and full of history. The yoga area is serene, the sea views are stunning, and the atmosphere is unforgettable. Perfect for a quiet escape or a photography adventure. Highly recommend!

Many negative comments about Mamula Island Resort come from people who have never actually visited, judging it solely by its past as a prison. In reality, the resort does not overlook this history.
