We visited twice Hotel Kleopatra in high season. First visit, we got upgraded for new room with big terace. After short trip to Albania (we got very helpful information from the owner, how get to Shkoder and where to visit), We got room with a great sea view. The breakfast was good. We had a great stay in Klepatra. Thank's to the family owners and service minded team.

“Expensive”

We stayed here one night out of our two week holiday in Montenegro. We decided to stay in the south as we had a few things we wanted to do there and being based in Kotor, wanted to save the drive south twice. I did minimal research and booked the night before through a web booking site. The best thing about this hotel is that the staff were friendly and seemed to want to please. We booked a family room for four with a double and two singles, and a balcony with a sea view, and the hotel had a pool which would be a bonus for the children. The room was plain and simple. The air conditioning worked. The television didn't, and the wifi only worked for one of us. There was no soap in the bathroom and we had to ask for toilet paper. There was a fridge in the room (not a mini bar as advertised, but that was not a problem.) The door handle was broken. We could see the sea, but nothing of note. The balcony, was a narrow strip to the side of the room, separated from the next room by a washing line. A small table and a couple of broken chairs. A balcony indeed, but not what I was expecting. The bathroom smelt of sewage and although someone had left a candle, there were no matches or air freshener. On arrival we asked about the pool, to be told that it was closed between 7pm and 10pm due to it being next to the restaurant at dinner time. We arrived at 7.10! We were told that the children could use it after 10pm, but it would close at 2am. They didn't. Breakfast was a small buffet with tea,coffee ,orange, bread with cold meats and cheeses, and omelette (the best bit.) I do understand that we are in southeast Europe and facilities are not what we should expect from other more developed places, however I don't think the price reflected the condition. We didn't have dinner here, and did not see a menu. There wasn't one in the room.

We only arrived at the Kleopatra by chance,as the awful apartment we had didn't have a pool.Few places in Ulcinj do!Rooms are comfortable and clean,but lack the basics we expect,such as coffee making equipment or a hair dryer.The bathroom is a wet-room type ,but quite small.There is a fridge and aircon,though some rooms have a t.v.Breakfast is frankly awful,and evening meals vary from good to poor.There is a nice pool area,but the pool could be cleaner.Wifi is iffy.The family owners are very nice and speak vg English.Eastern Europeans may find it O.K but for most Westerners it fails to meet expected standards.Ulcinj as a resort is dreadful!We only took 4 photos in a fortnight.
