Visited here in early February with a group of friends. As it was our first night in Marrakech, and we weren’t sure where to go, they kindly sent a guide to meet and escort us to the restaurant. The food, service, atmosphere and value for money were all excellent. The waiter was able to advise us about menu choices and his recommendations were spot on (including the Moroccan wine and beer). We all had 3 courses, along with wine and drinks, finishing off with the highest poured local tea of our trip, and our bill was around €40 each. I will definitely return to this restaurant next time I’m in town.

“Great 4 days in December”

Fantastic stay at the Casa Lalla beginning of December. Everything about the place was perfect. Comms before flying out about airport transfers was great, airport transfer itself was great. Fantastic stay at the Casa Lalla beginning of December. Everything about the place was perfect. Comms before flying out about airport transfers was great, airport transfer itself was great. The room - great size and a really comfy bed, show hot and had enough power, little snacks left every night. Breakfast - lots of choice, great coffee, choice of eggs in the morning cooked for you. Dinner - We had dinner one night and food was lovely, it's al la carte so don't expect a tagine but nevertheless the food was great. The roof top bar - this is the best bit, after walking around all day it's great to come back and have a few Casablanca beers or a glass of Prosecco, they are UK prices but it's still great. The staff are fantastic, can't remember the barmans name but he was so polite and friendly, a big thumbs up for the hotel. Surrounding area - 5 mins walk from the main square and 20 mins walk to the El Badi Palace. If you are looking for somewhere to book and like a drink after a long day sightseeing then you can't go wrong with Casa Lalla

We chose this Riad based on the positive reviews and its location, hoping for an authentic Marrakesh experience, and on the whole it did not disappoint. The property is full of character and charm, very clean, and the beds are comfortable. The staff are kind and professional at all levels and speak both French and English, alongside other languages. Wi‑Fi is good throughout. The location is perfect for exploring the souks—literally a five‑minute walk from the hustle and bustle, yet somehow wonderfully quiet. Rooms There are, I understand, eight guest rooms. We stayed in the junior suites, which are situated off the dining hall on the ground floor, separated by a small seating area. Personally, we found them very dark and a little damp (there is a dehumidifier in one of the suites), although both have air conditioning. The lighting is poor, and the sleeping area is up a small curved stairwell. There is also the sound of flushing water from the rooms above. Based on our experience, we would recommend booking a senior suite or a double room if natural light is important—they are on a higher floor and feel brighter. There is music playing in the dining area until around 10:30 pm, directly outside the suites. It wasn’t offensive, but it may bother some guests. Food & Drink Breakfast is served on the terrace, which is a lovely space. It’s a small, basic buffet, and they will make eggs on request—perfectly adequate. Dinner is served both in the dining room and on the terrace. The food is well prepared and flavoursome, priced for the tourist market (££). There is no view from the terrace, but it has a lovely atmosphere, and the bar offers a good choice of drinks, including very good cocktails. The waiters are efficient and charming. While we were there, the terrace opened for drinks at 16:30; you can sit there at any time, but there is no service before then. This may vary by season. The terrace is accessed via a narrow stairwell, so as mentioned earlier, this is not ideal for guests with mobility issues. Facilities There is a small pool listed, which is in fact a jacuzzi situated in the dining hall. It adds to the traditional atmosphere, but it was not used during our stay. Overall We would recommend this well‑run, authentic establishment to friends and family and would happily return—though we would book a different room category next time.

First time to Marrakech and I loved it. We stayed in Riad Casa Lalla in the heart of the Medina. Reading the positive reviews from other contributors I was looking forward to my stay. After negotiating the dingy lanes of the medina we eventually found Riad Cassa Lalla. We were met by our host and a strong smell of sewage. After which we were shown to our room. On the way to our room decor of the Riad is nice but after going in to your room the ambiance stops. Our room was small, sparsely decorated with a couple of small closets. The bathroom was dark, dingy and not very inviting. In our bathroom the towels supplied were hard and had awful smell. The bath/shower was again dirty and dingy looking. The dressing gowns supplied also had that awful smell. The breakfast was served at the rooftop area which is cold in the mornings. Why you can’t use the courtyard restaurant is a mystery ! The breakfast consisted of some pastries, some yogurt and a few slices of cold meat and cheese all exposed to the elements. The tea/coffee was served in flasks and it was just about warm. All presented on a random table. When I asked one morning for some sliced toast I was informed that they were finished serving it… this was 9am ! The service was not good and the staff at breakfast lacked professionalism. The positives… we did have a good night’s sleep. The location… very close to the heart of the Medina.. And I’m sorry to say but that’s it. One thing I would like to add, if you’re of an age and you have mobility issues this is not the accommodation for you. Steep, narrow winding steps are the only way of getting to your room if like us you’re on the first floor.
