“A perfect Riad for a stay in the old town”

Riad Dar Balthazar ist a very good place to stay in the old town of Marrakesh. The location is central and great for all activities. I liked very much the traditional style of the room and also the architecture of the whole building. A strong recommendation.

My family I had an enjoyable five night stay in one of the spacious and comfortable two suites. there were on first floor and the view was on the courtyard. it's very charming place in the the old center of Marrakech don,t forget to take city map for the first day The Moroccan decor throughout the riad is very tasteful, creating a relaxing and quiet environment. The riad is in a great location for easily exploring the Medina, the main square and surrounds. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was good and it was very great one the rooftop and Jamila is very friendly and jamila gives a lot of advice.

We had a nice stay in the riad dar balthazar in marrakech. It is a bit difficult to find and also the orientation in the souks can be challenging. As we arrived by taxi, a men on the street wanted to show us how to get to the riad (the street of the riad is too small for cars to drive). For the two minutes walk he wanted 100 dirham. After arguing he went away with 20... however, the riad offers a shuttle service which might be a better option. Later on, however, we used the app "hipp marrakech" which we found to be very helpful in the medina (offline map with GPS). Back to the riad :) The riad is very pricy and the team very kind and friendly. Because we travelled off season, we got a room upgrade for free. (Thank you!) The room was beautiful and clean. Morrocan decoration gives it a charming touch. Hospitality is very nice: stuff is always helpful and tea was served at arrival. Breakfast was served on the terrasse. Breakfast is just enough but good- comparable to most other riads we've been to. Furthermore, we spontaneously wanted to do a 2days Zagora desert trip. The housekeeping lady organized everything and the trip was much fun (try to get the seats next to the driver-the atlas view is amazing). Fazit: nice riad to stay in marrakech close to the medina. Just what you need :)
