Everything worked! Reception at check-in; the lifts to the upper and lower floors; the door keycard which also was necessary to use to turn on the electricity in the room; the a/c worked (very necessary, as it was extremely hot in Marrakech at that time); the fridge (which had a bottle of water in it - gratis!); and everything in the bathroom. The big bed and the pillows and the linen were all acceptable. There were not enough power points in the room however; and the one that was there was inconveniently located. Breakfast is free, and available from a room two levels down in the basement; windowless, etc. It was a large spread. And all the tables were being used. There were more than 60 people in there!. Mostly Moroccan. I only went once. People /guests were stealing things: nuts and dried fruit, boiled eggs. yogourts, fruit, bread, etc. It was very unattractive and upsetting for me. Real freshly-squeezed orange juice was being served. The coffee was OK. The staff sort of coped. I was impressed with the Hotel's attention to security. They need to keep this up - even improve on it. I used several other facilities at the hotel, and they were good. Pricing is moderate (for the Gueliz area). The Sports bar located on the corner opposite the front entrance to the Hotel was very good: large, with many screens, wonderful bar, and the food was exceptionally good. Clean and good security.

“Not the cleanest, not the friendliest”

Overall, our stay at this hotel was okay. The beds were comfortable and the facilities were fine. Our room had a fridge and a hairdryer which both came in very useful. The shower was good. The location was also excellent, within walking distance to many landmarks and it was very easy to get a taxi to and from the hotel. The pool was clean and pleasant, despite being unheated. It was also very conveniently located next to a number of different small shops, a supermarket, restaurants, a very friendly currency exchange shop and an excellent hair salon. We did however, have a number of issues, the main being cleanliness of the room. When we arrived it was clear that the room hadn’t been cleaned properly. The cleaner was sat on the bed on her phone when we walked through the door. The bathroom smelled of urine and there were stains and marks on the floor, shower, toilet and sink. The room generally smelled unclean and the rugs on the floor were quite honestly filthy. We had to slide them under the bed so as to not step foot on them. Both the balcony and bathroom door were broken and the room didn’t have any kind of heat source, despite the low temperature. We specifically asked for twin beds but were presented with a double, which we informed reception staff of immediately. They sent someone to separate the beds but we were then left with just one double duvet and the temperature was only around 10°C. We ended up having to ask 3 times for another duvet cover, my friend having to sleep the first night with just a bed sheet because the lady at reception simply stated there was nothing she could do. Reception, cleaning and café staff seemed generally very unwilling to help and we were often met with attitude and hostility. I would like to note however, that the door staff were absolutely lovely and always incredibly friendly and hospitable. We loved them! Breakfast had a good selection of different fresh and authentic foods, though many times items would run out and it would take a long time for staff to replenish them, despite asking multiple times. The coffee was really good, as well as the mint tea. Each day there was something slightly different which made a nice change. Unfortunately, I can’t say that I would stay here again after being spoken to very rudely by multiple members of staff. Overall, our stay was good value but the uncleanliness and attitude of staff would not lead us to book another stay here.

“DO NOT LEAVE YOUR BAGS IN THE LUGGAGE ROOM.”

الفندق جيد عموما وفيه موظفين خدومين وطيبين. ولكن اياك أن تضع حقائبك في غرفة الامتعة في اليوم الأخير وقبل مغادرتك الفندق لان الموظف المسؤول عن الامتعة شخص غير أمين لأنه يلتقط مايحلو له. في المرة الأخيرة وضعت حقائبي عنده قبل مغادرتي وذهبت للسوق لشراء حقيبة جديدة. وعند رجوعي للفندق بعد ربع ساعة أخذت م… more

الفندق جيد عموما وفيه موظفين خدومين وطيبين. ولكن اياك أن تضع حقائبك في غرفة الامتعة في اليوم الأخير وقبل مغادرتك الفندق لان الموظف المسؤول عن الامتعة شخص غير أمين لأنه يلتقط مايحلو له. في المرة الأخيرة وضعت حقائبي عنده قبل مغادرتي وذهبت للسوق لشراء حقيبة جديدة. وعند رجوعي للفندق بعد ربع ساعة أخذت منه الأغراض لأضعها في الحقيبة الجديدة وأكتشفت ان هناك زجاجة عطر غالية جدا مفقودة. لم أتكلم عن الموضوع لادارة الفندق خجلا. علما ان زجاجة العطر هذه جائتني كهدية من صديق مغربي وكانت غالية الثمن. وبعد تفريغ أغراضي في الحقيبة الجديدة حجزت تكسي للمطار ولم أتطرق للموضوع. هذه ليست المرة الأولى وانما أخبرني أحد الأصدقاء حدث له مثل هذا الامر في نفس الفندق. The hotel is generally good and the staff are helpful and kind. However, don't leave your bags in the luggage room on your last day before leaving the hotel because the luggage storage clerk is a dishonest person who picks whatever he wants. The last time I left my bags there before leaving and went to the market to buy a new bag. When I returned to the hotel after a quarter of an hour, I took my items to put in my new bag and discovered that a very expensive bottle of perfume was missing. I didn't tell the hotel management about it out of embarrassment. Note that this bottle of perfume was a gift from a Moroccan friend and it was very expensive. After unpacking my things in my new bag, I booked a taxi to the airport and didn't discuss the matter. This was not the first in this hotel. A friend told also before.

“Could be better”

Beds were clean well laundered but only sheet available. In March if by having to leave window open as air conditioning didn’t work, it could cold enough for duvet or cover found an odd cover like a curtain to use. Staff friendly. Breakfast buffet medium
