We had a lovely stay at the hotel. We read about the renovations a few days before going and we were a bit worried about it, but everything was okay. There were still some building works happening but it didn’t affect us massively. We were pleasantly surprised because everything looked very different and much more modern than the pictures we saw when we booked it. Especially the hotel, I loved the boho style of the new decor. The staff was so helpful and friendly, always with a smile. Especially if you consider it was during Ramadan, and they were still working hard to make sure the guests had the best time. We liked the food. We are not the biggest fans of moroccan food, but we never went hungry. There was only one day we didn’t really like anything at dinner but we had pizza from the pizza bar which was delicious. You can choose your own ingredients and it’s freshly cooked. I read in other reviews breakfast and lunch are better than dinner and I have to agree. It’s not a massive buffet but there was plenty of food and the only queues we saw was for the omelette at breakfast as it’s freshly cooked. Those were delicious by the way! The bread was delicious too. We also booked the moroccan restaurant and we enjoyed the experience. There are snacks in the afternoon, i think from 4pm, they were by the pool bar at the back, but that might have been because of the refurbishment going on, so double check with reception. We really enjoyed the snacks as it was better than the usual nuggets and chips at most ai hotels. They had freshly made sandwiches, toasties, wraps and a selection of cakes. The bar staff was amazing, and we we’re pleasantly surprised by the ai drinks, they usually not great and we always buy spirits at the airport but they were actually not that bad, same for the cocktails. Entertainment was alright, most of the team was very nice, a couple of them very arrogant, and it was definitely catered for the french. Pool are was great, very clean, there was always plenty of free sunbeds, but the water was freezing! Maybe they could invest in a heated pool next, like you see in most hotels in Egypt, it makes such a difference. We were lucky with the weather for February, it was around 28 degrees and sunny most days, but cold at night so the water would never warm up. Hotel is a bit in the middle of nowhere, but there is a free shuttle to new and old town. In general we enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back and recommend.

Stayed here 3rd march till 13th march. Bad points. Food was warm and tepid. The trays were food was in. were to close together one another. No system were the Queues are and not enough tables and chairs to go round for people to eat. We were going round and round trying to find where to sit. The bar shuts at 11pm so if you have a drink or ordered say by 10.50pm they shut all the lights pitch black and as everyone to get out. Rubbish everywhere and dust as there doing the rooms up I was ill tge last 4 days diarrhea and so was the wife few days so were other people staying there. So not sure what triggered that off. Had a scarry moment got stuck in the lift for 5 minutes pitch black. System failure. Now for good points great big rooms had pool view but with no balcony. Nice big pools . Great staff and entertainments day and night. Would I return no

We stayed at LaBranda at the end of February 2026. We got lucky with the weather (heat wave and was 26-28 degrees every day). What they don’t tell you is they switch the air con off for the winter and do not switch it back on until mid-March regardless of the temperature! The room was fine, quite spacious, en-suite was a little tired but functional. The gym is tiny and not well equipped. Annoyingly it is locked until the guy comes even though extensive opening hours are advertised outside its door so you have to traipse to reception and wait for someone to open the door. The food was average at best. The hot food was always tepid or cold. Always. There is ok choice but they don’t seem to change anything day after day. There isn’t enough choice for vegetarians either. I struggled to find any vegetarian protein. They tried a BBQ but what was served was raw in the middle and promptly left. A plus is they do a free shuttle into Marrakesh city. It takes half an hour. The hotel is at the end of a road in the middle of nowhere so you really are captive on site and couldn’t walk to shops or bars or anything. Also be prepared for a 5am wake-up every day by the local ‘Call to Prayer’ which happens up to three times starting at around 5am. It took us most of the week to get used to that before we slept through it. The worst thing about the hotel when we went was the amount of workmen around the place, builders dust, wires, grit all over the floor, drilling noise etc. and I’m sorry to say the workmen gawping at females in their swimsuits. Rooms were being gutted and there were piles of rubbish around the site. Our tour operator, Super Escapes, did not advise us that there would be refurbishment work going on and to what extent - we didn’t know if it was the hotel not telling or the tour operator, or both. Some staff are friendly, others not. There were loos leaking and blocked for the whole wee despite reporting it to reception. Overall disappointed with this 5 star establishment, and it’s location away from Marrakesh City.

Location Location was quiet and secure with gated community which felt safe, and constant security patrolling the area. It is not central and away from any markets so if you were looking to sight-see you’d have to get a taxi, there isn’t anything to really walk to around the area. Atmosphere The atmosphere was nice and relaxed, and there was a lively entertainment team in the day hosting various activities to keep guests entertained. There was music around the pool, wasn’t ridiculously loud either. In the evenings there was live music, with intervals from the entertainment hosting quizzes, dances etc. that were all guest-interactive. The music was quite loud, we stayed quite far away from the music and could still hear it from our balcony. Rooms Rooms were amazing, were very pleasantly surprised. They very clean, and were cleaned daily with new towels, new toilet paper, bins emptied and the beds made. They were very spacious with all the facilities required, and also very modern. Value We booked through onthebeach.com and payed £190pp for flights and hotel with all inclusive for 3 nights, so the value for money was very good. Overall, the food and drink is relatively limited, so I would say that anything more than that is probably pushing it. Food & Drink The breakfast and lunch overall was very good. There are long opening hours between breakfast and lunch, opening from as early as 7am for breakfast. Breakfast offers a crepe station and an omelette station (you can choose your own ingredients to be put within your omelette), and also offers a (limited selection) of meats and ham. There are pastries, breads, salads, fruit and cereal to choose from. Lunch offered chips and pasta (the only real international food offered over the 3 meals which isn’t necessarily ideal for picky eaters or children). There is a pizza station where you can have an oven baked pizza with a choice of 2 toppings on it, but that’s about it. In regards to the chips, all the guests swarmed to the chips when they were put out and the staff could barely keep up with the demand of chips wanted, which makes me wonder why there isn’t more plain foods put out. From 4pm-5pm, there are sandwiches put out which were lovely, and are located around the corner of the left handside of the pool, but again there is only a selection of chicken, mayo and lettuce sandwiches. Dinner is much to be desired. Very disappointing, both in choice and in actual presentation of the food. Fair enough, when visiting Morocco, you would expect to see Moroccan food, but other than the pizza station, there is literally nothing but Moroccan food. I will eat anything, but even I didn’t touch majority of it, it did not look pleasant to eat, the labelling (if any) of the food was incredibly vague, so myself and other guests weren’t even sure what we were eating - and if you do have an allergy it is very difficult to decipher what you can and can’t eat. The only saving grace was the pizza station, but even after 3 nights I was fed up of eating pizza. It was very disappointing and I wouldn’t be happy if I was staying a longer. Drinks overall are okay. There is lager served in bottles which was very nice. There is a choice of vodka, gin, white rum etc. to have with mixers such as Pepsi Max, Pepsi, Fanta, Lemonade etc. There are a choice of cocktails, such as Pina Colada's (wouldn’t recommend), Sex on the Beach (average) and a cocktail called Marrakech (would recommend). You can pay to have more properly done cocktails in a bar opposite the main bar. Overall, the pools (although freezing in Feb), waterslides, rooms (except struggling to get aircon working) and staff are brilliant - but definitely room for improvement on food. I would return again, but probably only if I could get it for the same price and same amount of dates.
