Exceptional raid with phenomenal service. Beautiful accommodations and a top notch spa where my friend and I experienced a traditional Hammam and therapeutic massage. We would have stayed longer but this was the day before the start of a group tour. Based on all of the riads we stayed at across morroco over the next 11 days, I would rate Le Farnatchi higher if I could. Wonderful, friendly, and accommodating staff! Thank you for everything!

“Great Riad, great location and oasis of calm”

The Riad is an oasis of calm right in the centre of the Medina next to the Souks and the Ben Youseff Medersa. We were collected by the hotel’s driver who pointed out landmarks and helped us get our bearings. The car cannot get close to the road so there is a five minute walk through crowded bustlin… more

The Riad is an oasis of calm right in the centre of the Medina next to the Souks and the Ben Youseff Medersa. We were collected by the hotel’s driver who pointed out landmarks and helped us get our bearings. The car cannot get close to the road so there is a five minute walk through crowded bustling uneven streets. Great for atmosphere but be cautious if you have mobility issues. We were collected from the car and walked to our Riad where we were greeted with hot towels and Berber tea. We were shown to our room which was huge, beautifully decorated in authentic Moroccan style and warm (with air conditioning if needed). The bed was super king sized and very comfortable. The bedroom led to separate toilet, bathroom and wardrobe area all on different levels. This added to the charm but not ideal if you have mobility issues. The room had an outside terrace with lovely views, accessed by steep stairs down and then up. The staff were available for anything we needed and booked various excursions, trips and gave us advice on where to visit, eat and drink. Each of the ten rooms are laid out differently with views over the pool and courtyard. Breakfast is served in the breakfast room, on the main or own terrace or your room. It is yoghurt, fruit, fresh orange juice, tea/coffee various breads and eggs cooked to your liking. Breakfast is served 8-2pm so if you have an early excursion you can have on return. The restaurant Le Trou du Mar is across the street with a varied Moroccan or International menu. The views from the rooftop at sunset across the medina toward the Atlas Mountains are spectacular. The experience is enhanced by regular sounds of call to prayer across the Medina. We loved the location but it is tucked away down a maze of alleys on uneven ground. Some of the rooms had terraces directly outside overlooking courtyard, others were accessed via stairs, with views over medina. Do your research and request your preference. The rooms are dark and on various levels, take a night light to avoid falls in the night. There were no tea/coffee making facilities and no fridge to keep water cool. Double check when booking excursions if cash is required and whether booked direct or with supplier. Have money to pay carter at end of stay, we gave all our cash to Riad as tips and had nothing left. We loved The oasis of calm and gorgeous smell in the Riad and the hustle and bustle of the city as soon as you left We loved the spa treatments offered by the Riad and rooftop restaurant. The hot air balloon ride was a highlight, along with our first visit to the souk.

I absolutely loved my stay at Le Farnatchi Riad. James, Walid, Saeeda, and Morad truly know how to make guests feel welcome, their warmth and attentiveness made the experience exceptional from start to finish. The riad is perfectly located in a safe area, ideal for exploring the nearby shops and galleries. The medina can be easy to get lost in, but the locals are friendly and always happy to help guide you back to this stunning retreat. Breakfast each morning was delicious, and the spa is one of the best in Morocco, a real highlight of the stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the team, and their level of care and professionalism is second to none. I would highly recommend Le Farnatchi to anyone visiting Marrakech. It’s a truly special place that makes you feel at home while offering a luxurious and memorable experience.
