My stay in Dar Lamia was so fantastic ! The managing team and their staff has made me feel so beautifully cared for, every detail is made for you to be able to let go and enjoy a beautiful time 🥹. A huge thanks to Celine, Hugo and their team for making that experience possible, for all the care and dedication. Their attention and presence is really exceptional and made this moment very precious. To Sofia, Mustafa, Saad and the restaurant’s team who is cooking a delicious variety of quality products, and who is making sure that we won’t miss anything with the most ultimate kindness and hard work. To Najat and Mimound who are true spa’s angels (if you go there; you HAVE to book yourself a face care and massage 💆🏻‍♀️). So much gratitude for all the work that is put to make our stay the most special, it’s made with love and passion and you can definitely tell ✨💫

“Peaceful Retreat with Wonderful Staff”

Residence Dar Lamia provided us with a relaxed and peaceful setting at the start of our holiday in Morocco. Residence Dar Lamia provided us with a relaxed and peaceful setting at the start of our holiday in Morocco. A big thanks to the kind and helpful staff—we especially enjoyed the Spa services, including hammam. Breakfasts were plentiful and delicious, though dinner did not quite meet our expectations. Part of the outdoor pool was heated, but we also swam in the refreshingly cool pool. Thanks also for this opportunity!

Aw…… we have very mixed feelings about Dar Lamia. We did enjoy our 5 day stay…. Which we came to after x3 days in the Medina in a Riad. It ticked all the boxes for relaxation and tranquility. Aw…… we have very mixed feelings about Dar Lamia. We did enjoy our 5 day stay…. Which we came to after x3 days in the Medina in a Riad. It ticked all the boxes for relaxation and tranquility. THE GOOD: Undoubtedly, it’s a peaceful haven outside the bustle of the city. 20 mins taxi each way (200 each way). Nothing else around….. a taxi to a local Carrefour essential (200 return and the driver waited which was awesome). Our three teens each had their own space/bedroom which was great. It’s a super safe environment….so, so quiet. The whole environment is quiet and serene and this suited us very well. Great TVs with excellent watching options - WiFi really good in main areas…villa so big WiFi in some bedrooms sometimes tricky. The main pool area is lovely, clean, well-tended and we really enjoyed relaxing here. Hugo was incredibly affable, accommodating and welcoming. The barman also good and friendly. There is a pétanque court…. Loved this! This is a family business and clearly loved. My husband had a wonderful massage on site. If you love cats this place is great….there are approx x50 of them. They seem well cared for and not neglected. More of them later. THE BAD (not so good): Breakfast and supper very so-so. We ate once at both and did not wish to return for either. This makes eating somewhat problematic. One menu for both snacks and meals….not any variety. It’s okay for lunch. Comedy value was the barman also just having one literal menu - chalked up on a heavy board which he lugged to each table when people ordered! They ran out of coke, and sprite and fruit juice…. For a poolside bar and restaurant this isn’t great! Our villa seemed really quite tired…whether the others were different we cannot say, but ours had that old era down at heel feel to it. Many broken pool and floor tiles, a loo that wouldn’t stop flushing, doors that wouldn’t shut without locking, mattress supported on makeshift plyboard, a broken mirror, ripped threadbare fabric on sofas. There were kinda stained white crumbly marks on the bottom of the walls in the bathrooms and we couldn’t work out of the marks on the walls were intentional or actual flooding marks. Our pool had a rusty discarded metal sunbed frame just left at the top, some tarpaulins and a pile of wood. It just seemed very much needing of some tlc. It had all the potential to be really wow….but I wonder if on a cycle of refurbishment they hadn’t got round to ours yet. It’s a shame and the other reviewers don’t seem to have this same issue. THE UGLY: Back to TopCat and friends….. Unfortunately these cats peed everywhere….. all over our villa’s outside sofas, on the sunbed cushions, the outside chairs…. So hanging out at Villa 8’s pool was not really an option. It was cold anyway…so this suited us fine, but the aroma of cat wee really is problematic for sure!
