Riad Katia is a pleasant four bedroom place that has kept a very traditional and authentic Riad feel. The room we stayed in was small but actually met all of our needs. The bathroom was clean with a decent shower and towels were provided. There are two levels of roof top terraces to soak up the Morrocan sun with comfortable relaxing furniture. Yassin and Rajha were lovely staff and made our stay very welcoming and comfortable. Yassin had lots of good recommendations and was always around to help. From a security point of view, he is there every evening and night and which is comforting to know. Breakfast is included and is made up of tea/coffee and freshly squeezed OJ. Lots of traditional breads with condiments and a fried egg sometimes. It took a little searching to find the place on our first day but basically you look for the pharmacy sign and head down that small street, first left to the end and the alley where it turns right and at the end of the small alley street Riad Katia is the black door (second to last). Its location was superb as it meant we could come and go and be in the main square within minutes. This was great as it meant we did not need to get a taxi each time we wanted to go out. We would happily stay here again on our next visit to Marrakech.

We stayed at Riad Katia for a week and were very happy. The riad itself is situated no more than 10 minutes walk from Djema el Fna, and was the perfect base for exploring the souqs and the main sights of Marrakech. We had a room on the ground level and although the room was quite small and dark (no windows to the outside - which perhaps is common in the riads in the medina area???), we wouldn't have stayed anywhere else. Almost forgot the rooftop terrace: two levels of pure relaxation - perfect place to soak up some sun and relax after a hectic day. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the riad itself is so authentic, pretty and charming. And best of all: the price...the rate for one room for two persons was something like 25 USD pr. night...including breakfast. If we're ever in Marrakech again, we'll certainly stay at Riad Katia

The riad is located right in the center of market square, close to all places that you may want to visit. Most of the touristic locations can be visited by foot in 10-15 mins. However, the stay was alright and not very great for the price. We have stayed at two other Riads in Marrakesh during our Morocco trip and the other hosts were very hospitable. They were in constant touch with us before our arrival to ensure our check in is seamless and our stay in comfortable. We never heard from this host before our arrival. The caretakers in this riad were helpful and tried to help us as much as they could. But they were not in a position to receive us when we arrived. Breakfast was average.
