This is our third time at Medina Gardens. We do not tend to go to the same place more than once, so this is testament to how good we find it there. As always the staff are marvellous and welcomed us back. We had a lovely room with a view of the gardens and pool area. The food was very good and varied and the Al La Carte at the Culinarium was fantastic. The older Chef Siad is now retired- we missed him very much. Abdul, the cleaner in the restaurant, is friendly and welcoming. He keeps the area spotless. It was very hot at 40 c whilst we were there, but found refuge under the trees in the gardens which are kept so well. Plenty of loungers and bean bags to sit on. There were couple of people we were aware of that had travellers tummy. They put it down to the food at the hotel. I am not sure. If you lay out in the sun ALL day at 40c and drink alcohol and don't stay hydrated you will get heat exhaustion or heat stroke. The symptoms fit both perfectly. Zineb the rep is an absolute star, She is so kind and friendly. Always happy to talk to you and give you advice and help. She has so much local information. She is always there for you. Thankyou yet again for a marvellous stay and hope to see you again soon. The animation team of Michael, Jaguar and Spongy are a dream team. They are so talented. Warm, welcoming and full of energy. Michael's Michael Jackson dancing was fantastic. Jaguar's dancing and involving everyone was magic. Spongy was the all seeing eye. Making sure everything went well and getting everyone up dancing. He was so interesting to talk to. They are a real credit to the hotel and made our, holiday that much more special.

“Lovely peaceful stay Until..”

I wrote the below the evening before I was due to fly home and generally had a lovely time until I woke up with the worst food poisoning ever - feeling really unwell! The whole stay we were extra vigilant with hygiene / not using the water etc so clearly the hotel has a problem with the buffet & food contamination! Not sure what are the bad reviews are about this hotel is just lovely! Arrived late on Friday and check in was smooth & quick; no forms, and despite lots of people arriving at the same time, no queues! Sandwiches were left for us & bags taken to our room! Rooms were spacious and clean. Big bed (although very hard) wardrobe for storage and open plan bathroom, with a seperate toilet! I hadn't realised I standard room did nit include a balcony so be mindful! Although you can open doors fully to Juliet and lovely views over the garden and mosque. Hotel is set amongst lovely grounds and gardens. There is a main pool & relax pool! We did find sun loungers were impossible to get at the main pool but there are hundreds in the gardens so getting one was never a problem! Bali beds were a nice touch but hard to book (had to do on the app but always booked up). Pools were quiet, not really any music playing - would have liked a bit around the main pool! Facilities were plentiful, we made use of paddle courts, air conditioned gym, boxing class, tennis court! Medina is only a 10 min stroll and it's crazy to think how peaceful and quiet the hotel is when your this close to the craziness & chaos of the town! Food was okay - plenty of choice and show cooking - omelettes for breakfast / meet for lunch etc. we did find every time we went to the buffet though there wasn't much left and it wasn't topped up! Maybe we were eating at the wrong times. All staff were friendly, helpful and attentive! Transfer for short and easy! Tbh I really can't fault a thing - so please ignore the bad reviews!

We spoke to receptionist and TUI rep only to be told it hadn’t broken down and “IF” it had it was only for 1 night…

“3.5 Stars, Ok overall but service needs improvement”

Location - great, right in the heart of Marrakesh, great for walking into the main square & souks in the Medina. The gardens are lovely and well kept. Location - great, right in the heart of Marrakesh, great for walking into the main square & souks in the Medina. The gardens are lovely and well kept. Hotel is next door to an artisan craft place open 7-7 and has two atms for taking cash out. Dint forget to 'decline' the first conversion rate as it will default to your banks which will be better value. All inclusive drinks - very hit and miss in terms of quality and consistency. Warm prosecco in the belini and a 'caiprina' with no lime or sugar syrup to name a few. A whole team retrain is needed to deliver better standards. Snack bar - we sat down to be told there was no fish and chips, no vegan wrap and no pizzas which is literally half the menu. We went back to the all inclusive buffet where they were serving pizza... You have to laugh. All inclusive buffet - decent selection of food provided particularly for vegetarians. More hit and miss for meat eaters. Servers were kind but staff working the buffet were very curt and pushed in several times. Room - our room was the most basic type and yet we had no issues, housekeeping did a good job and we had a decent view of the pool. Noise - at night the TUI entertainment was incredibly noisy and seemed to go past 11pm. The residual noise from the sky bar is also a nuisance and we were a fair distance away. Take earbuds. Pool/Day Beds - the sun lounger situation is not actively managed despite the responses I have seen to other reviews. There are leaflets attached to several pool tables stating that action will be taken and towels removed but in reality it is certainly not. A firmer, more up front approach to this is needed and following through on action and removing towels will nip this in the bud. There are plenty of sunbeds overall in the gardens and trees to take shelter under so people need to stop panicking. Some mornings there were still a handful of pool sunloungers available by 9am. The Blue app is tricky to navigate and meant I ended up booking two day beds instead of one. However this was resolved. The fridge by our day bed wasn't working and my husband had to go up to reception twice to resolve. Entertainment - the entertainment team seem fab and the offering was really good. We saw karaoke bingo and belly dancing as well as live singing. There is also a movie screen in the gardens and popcorn machine for movie nights. Really well done. Having a regular ice cream offer would help with the summer heat. One day staff popped round with icepops but I imagine icecream would go down really well. No late checkout which was really disappointing as our shuttle didn't leave til after 6pm and we had a long wait. So overall OK, but areas for improvement.
