I had an excellent experience in this beautiful place, the staff is incredibly welcoming and caring, I really felt like home as the Riad is held by a mother and her son. I had fresh juice and a bunch of moroccan pastries when i arrived, they gave me a choice between two beautiful bedrooms, it has a lot of beautiful spots to chill and relax, it's so calm it takes you away from everyday life. Very delicious and various breakfast, I think eveyone should stop here if coming to morocco even if Oujda is not in your Bucket list it's worth passing by just to stay here.

“Room deception, beware”

Whenever I travel, I do my research and refer to reviews in order to get what I want. For this reason, I write reviews of my experiences where possible. For this reason in particular, I am writing this review. There are precious few reviews about this riad and I've read much of them in the different languages. Overall, people talk about how it's a nice family run place with a great breakfast. But what about the rooms?! Room: Well, we booked a suite through Booking.com and were very disappointed with both their and the riad's deception. The "suite" was essentially a dorm room with a bathroom THAT HAD NO DOOR. You heard me. The suite consisted of a bed, a desk, and a narrow bathroom that was the width of the room. The "bathroom" consisted of a shower head on one side, a toilet on the other, and a sink in between. And no door. Anywhere. Except for to the "suite". Oh, and outside the door? Construction. Buyer beware. When I complained, the girl told me this was normal for Morocco. I just spent weeks in many cities and many more riads, and this was the only place like that! Shame on her for perpetuating this lie! Location: As others have mentioned, this riad is hard to find. Google Maps doesn't work in Morocco (offline only and even that doesn't work properly) and Here doesn't recognize the street. We were driving and got lost a few times. It's very near the gallerie d'art. Communication: We called to let them know that we would be arriving later in the evening. After several calls over some time, finally a girl answered who didn't speak English or French, and she hung up on me. Eventually, someone called me back who spoke good French. Reception: We had high hopes for this lovely family run place, especially as someone had written they provided juice and Moroccan cookies upon arrival. Although they knew exactly when we were arriving, we were received by a young girl who was only interested in our passports and her friend who sat in the middle of the reception couch seemingly absorbed by her phone. It was totally unprofessional and not at all welcoming. Furthermore, like most riads, there was no elevator and lots of stairs. Unlike other riads, there was also no one who took our bags up to the room. There was a somewhat older gentleman who helped us get the bags into the riad, but he stayed outside. Positive points: you can park your car outside on the street and the lobby of the riad is beautiful.
