The reviews from Nov & Dec 2025 caused us some reservations for our upcoming stay at Noumea Resort & Spa. However, on our arrival the front desk staff & concierge were welcoming and very helpful. Our room overlooked the pool and the beach swimming area - it was great. The room was large, well maintained and serviced beautifully each day. Everything worked as required in the room. The pool was fantastic and well maintained. Great for laps and just lazing around. We did water aerobics classes twice each day and it was fun. Breakfast served in the Le Sextant Restaurant was plentiful, replenished, tasty, filling and varied each day with helpful and pleasant staff. The weekend breakfast was extra special. The La Fare cafe & bar near the pool offered a reasonable & delicious light all day & evening menu with heaps of drink choices. The Resort put on a St Valentine's Day evening meal (at extra cost) with entertainment. This was an exceptional evening as was the food & entertainment. Well done!!. The front desk staff were very helpful in making sure we were able to book things to do and that our stay was pleasant and it was. We had dry cleaning of some clothing done and it was returned to our room promptly. To be fair to the Noumea Resort & Spa - they are getting on their feet having taken over the business & building in the last few months. They are working hard to bring the facilities and experience to its former glory and are achieving it. If you are prepared to try and speak a little French (even though it may not be your first language & you haven't done so since High School) you will be admired by the locals and staff and have a laugh at the same time. For Australians - English will come your way with a smile. Tourism in Noumea is a bit depressed at the moment for varying reasons. We felt safe on the clean and beautiful streets in both the day and night and walked to most places we visited and ate at near the Resort. We really enjoyed our 7 nights at the Noumea Resort & Spa and would return in a heartbeat. Only a two and a half hour flight from Sydney for a taste of France give it a go with a stay at this Resort.

We had a lovely stay! The reception staff was very welcoming, the room was very spacious and well-appointed with lively colours, the terrace and the view were splendid!! We spent some time at the Spa which was really nice and they have a lovely deck with a jacuzzi overlooking the sea. Brunch was great with lots of choices, staff was nice and efficient! They also have a great offer at the moment that includes breakfast, spa and even some credit at the casino right next to the hotel! It was really worth it and would love to come again! Definitely recommend!

We booked the Nouméa Resort & Spa hotel, located at the southern tip of the Anse Vata bay area while it was operated by Le Meridien for a relaxing week long holiday in March 2026. Several weeks prior to arriving we were notified by Le Meridien and the new operator SHN that the hotel would not be operated by Le Meridien, however the notification did not fully prepare us for how limited hotel operations would be. Upon our arrival the staff were warm, welcoming and took our bags to our room. Every interaction with the hotel staff was been lovely, and they went above and beyond as they have been able. There was no room service, which we were notified of by SHN. When we got into our room we noticed that the minibar wasn’t cold, as we had a bottle of champagne and some medicine to store. The fridge was also empty apart from a small milk. We called reception who organised for maintenance to swap out the fridge the next morning. The minibar was still not filled with any items during our stay although the email from SHN stated that “all our rooms are equipped with a self-service minibar”. The room, a suite, was very nice although a little worn and dated - the bedhead was yellowed, and although there were 2 TVs and 2 ceiling fans only one of each remote was in the room. There were glasses in the room, although most of them were single (e.g. one wine glass, one water glass, etc.). We realise that the hotel is going through a transition, but there are so many small things that could have been easily remedied throughout the hotel that left undone make it feel very sad: the water fountain in the hall has been empty the whole time and has no cups, there is a coffee machine near reception that is unplugged and has no coffee pods, cups or other supplies, the snack bar is closed which meant we had to find a supermarket for snacks, etc. There is more restorative work needed to the fabric of the hotel too, and while this wasn’t a dealbreaker for us, if you are looking for a hotel maintained at a 5-star level I would wait a while until they finish renovations and go elsewhere for now. The biggest disappointment is that we booked and paid for a 5-star Le Meridien stay, and got a 3-star one at best.
