Stayed here a few times. Both times seem to have been upgraded to a King+double 2 bedroom apartment. Which was a lovely gesture and I had not been aware that these were an option, so for future trips with friends I'd definitely recommend them. The kitchenette fridge was blessedly quiet as those things usually give off a low rumble that makes it hard to get to sleep. The room also had a generous sized bath, as well as a shower so I found myself having a bubble-bath, in goodness knows how long - a real treat. The staff were lovely and allowed me to check-in an hour early and they were nice the last time I visited as well. Despite being next to a main road the room was quiet and either had good sound-proofing or the other guests at the motel we peacefully quiet as well. No faults really. Also always found electric hire scooters outside the front entrance which made getting around the city that much easier.

On arrival, chap at reception was very pleasant and helpful. We have stayed at this motel several times before. This time there had been upgrades completed. Our room was very clean, and had everything we required. It was so cold weather wise and the heat pump was very efficient. The location is great, Hagley Park in walking distance. Botanic gardens close by and walk through them and there is the city on the other side. Brilliant from our point of view. Would certainly stay again. Janice

“You get what you pay for - not much!”

The welcome was friendly, the beds were comfortable but the rooms are dated and need maintenance, the curtains were falling off the rails and everything just looked really tired. The welcome was friendly, the beds were comfortable but the rooms are dated and need maintenance, the curtains were falling off the rails and everything just looked really tired. We would have appreciated it if we had been informed that they were going to use a digger at 8am right outside our bedroom window. We were also surprised that our room was not completely serviced, the sugar and milk was replenished but nothing else was done. The fire alarm went off during the morning and there was construction in the car park. Perhaps we just had some bad luck. You get what you pay for at Carnmore on Hagley Park

“Disappointing Stay – Not a 4 star rating.”

Upon arrival, I walked into the room and was immediately hit with a strong, musty, mouldy smell, similar to damp carpet. I waited about 30 minutes with the door open to see if fresh air would help, but the odour remained. I called reception, and a staff member came to check the room. She mentioned there was one other room available but took a bottle of room spray with her to “inspect” it. When she asked if I wanted to inspect the second room I pointed out that the scent she had sprayed in that room would only be masking the odour rather than solving the issue. She then told me there were no other rooms available and gave me the room spray to use for the rest of my stay. Unfortunately, the unpleasant smell persisted throughout my 2 night stay. On top of that, the lights constantly flickered, which was annoying. The entire place needs a refresh, as seen in the photos I’ve uploaded. The furniture needs a good clean, the plastering repairs in the bathroom need to be completed and there is green/black stained grout in the showers, and an ironing board cover that is dirty and needs replacing. The whole place could do with a deep clean and a fresh coat of paint. This is not a 4 star motel and overall, a pretty average experience.
