Amazing team here. We came here 4 years ago for our honeymoon and it was stellar, sadly our trip was cut short. We were so excited to come back for our 4 year anniversary and the staff made so many special little efforts to make it magical, including staging towel swans. I can’t recommend this place enough, the views are great, the food is good and the water taxi makes it so easy to get to downtown.

I have never felt more like a valued Diamond member than I did at this hotel: the first phone call when had to clarify something on my reservation; check in with Kris, who made us feel very welcomed and answered all our questions; the excellent accommodations—spacious, clean, comfortable—with a hand written thank you note and wine; and the view —oh my…the VIEW! Anybody I interacted with at the hotel was friendly and helpful. Plus there is a convenient water taxi that picks up right by behind the hotel and a delicious cafe that has GF options. The small details really do make a difference. Thank you all for making such a big difference in our trip. We will never forget your hospitality nor incredible Queenstown.

What a great stay at the Hilton Queenstown! Every aspect of it exceeded my expectation and it’s been a while since a hotel made me feel that way. A special thanks to Zhen, who I had the pleasure interacting with at breakfast. During my 5 day stay, he welcomed me warmly every morning and made me feel at home. His service was above and beyond. Queenstown is truly an amazing place and there’s no doubt I will be returning. Hilton will certainly be at the top of my hotel choice when that happens.

Our trip to New Zealand began in Queenstown, where we stayed for two nights. We chose the Hilton for our stay. It is located about a 10-minute drive from the airport, on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, on the opposite side of the town. There is a ferry that connects the Hilton to the tourist area, with a 20-minute crossing. Tickets can be purchased at the front desk for NZD 10 per person, per segment. The hotel is old and not very appealing. Check-in was quick and courteous. We were offered an upgrade to a lake-view room for an additional NZD 25 per night. The room assigned was #510. We are not entirely sure it was worth paying for the upgrade, as the view was in fact only partial, since another building stood directly in front of our room. The room, like the rest of the property, had an outdated and unattractive design. The window glass was very dirty. The room itself was spacious, with a seating area that included sofas sufficient for two people to relax, and a small balcony. The bathroom had poor lighting. There were two sinks, and a separate shower and bathtub. The bath amenities were complete. The air conditioning worked well and was quiet. The main issue was the bed: supposedly a king-sized bed, it was extremely uncomfortable because it was just two single beds pushed together, with a hard seam clearly noticeable beneath the sheet. There was complimentary instant coffee and water in the room. Daily housekeeping was provided, but there was no turndown service. We had the buffet breakfast in the restaurant, but the selection was limited, and some items were charged separately, such as espresso coffee. On one occasion, we ordered sparkling water at the restaurant and they didn’t have any—quite surprising! In summary, the hotel’s location may have been a strong point, but in reality it did not provide the restful sleep one would expect from a property of this standard.
