Location: (4.5/5) The hotel sits on the southern shore of Lake, not far from the airport. The lakefront scenery is absolutely gorgeous – perfect for peaceful strolls with breathtaking views of the mountain range. The main trade-off: it's a 15-minute water taxi ride into central Queenstown. The water taxi costs $14 NZD one-way, but you can buy a Bee Card at the front desk ($5 card fee) and then tickets are only $10 NZD each. One card can be used for multiple people, so it's worth grabbing if you plan to go into town more than once. While the water taxi adds a small logistical step, the journey itself is scenic and pleasant, plus you'll avoid the madness of Queenstown's parking situation. Room: (4/5) Spacious, clean, and with spectacular lake views. The bed itself is comfortable, though the pillows are a letdown – not quite the plush support you'd expect at this level. Bathroom is spacious, with a good-sized shower and nice water pressure. The bathtub, however, has a frustrating quirk – the water doesn't get properly hot. Lukewarm at best, which is disappointing if you're hoping for a soak after a day outdoors. Dining: (4.5/5) The hotel has two restaurants, and both serve great food. The main restaurant features an outdoor area with a circular sofa seating zone around a central fire pit – a fantastic spot to enjoy a pre-dinner drink while taking in the lake views and mountain air. Breakfast offers a good variety with solid flavour and quality. The Asian options on the buffet are less impressive, but the overall spread is satisfying. Staff at breakfast were attentive and efficient. Service: (5/5) Service is a genuine highlight. A standout was the Asian girl at reception with long eyelashes (I regret not catching her name) – she was incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful. All requests were responded to quickly and efficiently, and every staff member we interacted with was genuinely friendly and professional. There was a handwritten welcome card, along with chocolate and a bottle of red wine in the room – thoughtful touches that made the stay feel personal. Overall: 4.5/5 Hilton Queenstown delivers stunning scenery, spacious rooms, and consistently warm service. The location is peaceful and beautiful – while it's not walkable to town, the water taxi adds to the charm (and the Bee Card makes it affordable). The food is solid, the welcome touches are appreciated, and the service is top-notch. A few minor gripes but neither significantly detracted from an otherwise wonderful stay.

“Memorable stay with amazing views!”

Beautiful room facing the lake. Gorgeous sunsets and sunrises. The grill Restaurant had a wonderful buffet breakfast. Our server several times was Jessica who did a phenomenal job and made us feel very at home. Thank you staff of the Hilton Queenstown.

Such an amazing experience to be in Queenstown for the first time and the location of Hilton Resort is just too good....the fresh breeze of the lake view every morning just take our breadth away and experiencing the cold temperature in a cozy room that Hilton has to offer is another level of comfortability. The staff reception was awesome especially with their smiles that wipes away the thought of being in a cold part of the world. They are very friendly and approachable. I would like to specifically mention the following staff that made my family feel at home from arrival to our different departing time; Tanmay at reservations, Melissa - Duty manager from day 1, Hayat duty manager, Matt FnB, Priyank, Shavneel -chef on our birthday party, the house keeping staff during our 4 days stay , Zane, Lisi, Tipo and Ane.... The painting and wall decoration really made us feel we are part of the hotel as it reflects some masi and photos of the Fijian culture. Ohhh the breakfast is just too awesome with huge varieties of hot dishes to pick from inorder to prepare you for the daily activities in the cold surroundings Will be planning a return trip in the near future....
