I am IHG member and looked this hotel up online. we had just gotten off the ferry from Picton and didn’t feel like driving to our next destination, So we decided to stay in Wellington for the evening and the Intercontinental was a perfect choice. Very upscale and perfect location. Check-in was awesome. Dominic was as kind and efficient as I’ve ever had. We wanted to explore Wellington and this hotel situated perfectly downtown by the wharf so we could walk right across the street and check out all the restaurants and shops they gave us two free drink tickets which we used in the lounge which was very nice. The room was fantastic with an odd little window in the bathroom that we had to figure out how to turn on and Office as I have not seen this before very comfortable beds well appointed room.

Very nice stay. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Service is what you would expect of a 5 star hotel - it was very good, especially the concierge desk. It's within walking distance to so many interesting places - museum, tram, and fantastic restaurants. We had dinner at the hotel and it was very good. There are also some fantastic restaurant close-by eg Le Saigon. The Parkrun is within walking distance if you're into that. I would certainly stay here again.

“Great location with strange odor”

Good location with friendly front desk staff and housekeeping plus decent food and beverage in the 7th floor club. We stayed in two adjacent harbour view rooms on the 8th floor and both rooms had a strong petrol smell which we attributed to a disinfectant used by housekeeping. Upon sharing this com… more

Good location with friendly front desk staff and housekeeping plus decent food and beverage in the 7th floor club. We stayed in two adjacent harbour view rooms on the 8th floor and both rooms had a strong petrol smell which we attributed to a disinfectant used by housekeeping. Upon sharing this comment at checkout, the front desk informed us that this was not a housekeeping matter, but rather a ventilation issue that the hotel has not yet been able to diagnose. Ask to change rooms if you come across this odor as it should be of concern to guests and, more importantly, to the hotel.
