Mi Pad is an excellent hotel. Ideally located 5 min walk to everything. There is a big carpark next to Mi Pad. It's free 6pm to 8am. There are many residential streets you can park in if you don't want to pay during the day. We downloaded the app which made it easy. The rooms are a great size, you can fit a suitcase open under the bed each side and just pull out like a draw. We had a lovely view of the Gondola and mountains. Hair dryer and straighteners are in the room which is very handy as are toiletries which smell lovely. Very comfy beds. Highly tech lighting and aircon touch pads. The toilet and shower are separate and the sink is in the room which means you can both be getting ready at the same time. The staff are very polite and accommodating. Will and Alex and Danny were great on reception. Boom and Dream were excellent in housekeeping, very friendly, these were who we saw. Gordon and Harry were both very pleasant, i really feel nothing was to much trouble. Grest customer service.The rooms are immaculately clean. There are no kettles in the room but the staff happily give you one if you ask. What I think is a great idea is on each floor there are vending machines, a good variety of drinks all free and a water/ ice machine too, again free. There are also vending machines for snacks etc for you to buy. The rooms have a drop down desk, a chair and a luggage rack. Plenty of hooks to hang coats etc. A lovely rooftop terrace with plenty of seating, beautiful views of the mountains and lake. We spent 6 nights here and will definitely book again next time we are in Queenstown. 100 % recommend.

“An Excellent Stay”

I'm going to address the common issues people raise about Mi-pad. There are a lot of negative posts regarding the lack of parking. There is a Council carpark very nearby. Please know almost all lodging in the CBD either charges $20-$35/day to park. Even then, few have room for vans and most have fewer spaces than rooms, so may not be able to accomodate you when you arrive. Traffic and parking is a problem in Queenstown no matter where you are...it has a very compact CBD. If staying in the CBD, you can get every place quicker on foot. If you are doing the 'adrenaline' activities, many start in town or have complimentary pick-ups in town. There are car rental companies in town if you want to take a one day outing. In short, if you are starting and/or ending your NZ vacation in Queenstown, it makes sense to start./end your van/car rental after/before your Queenstown visit. There are taxi and share rides to/from the Airport and in town. However the public bus is as quick and runs every 15 minutes to/from the Airport. For the best price, order a 'Bee' card online, buy one at the airport at Paper Plus (after security) or at the green info center in Queenstown (corner of Camp & Shotover Streets. You only need one card per group, not per person. It's easy and efficient. The location of Mi-pad is excellent. Being a newer building round the corner from the main street, it provides a quiet sleeping environment. The construction noise mentioned in a couple reviews (which we didn't find intrusive at all) will be done by mid-December. Almost all the restaurants are within two blocks. The bus stop to/from the Airport (and other destinations) is on the next block. The pick-up for outlying activities is two blocks away. Queenstown Gardens, the Wharf etc are all close by. The finishes at Mi-pad are quality. The furnishings are quality and comfortable. The Mi-pad rooms are small, but extremely well thought out. The bathrooms are different. Check out the photos. If you are a couple you are not going to hear anything you haven't heard before. We didn't have any issue with it. The rooms are cleaned everyday, a rarity since before Covid in our travels. There are spacious lounges on the 2nd and 3rd floors as well as the beautiful rooftop terrace. In the five days we were there, they were usuallly empty when we went to use them. The tables there are much more condusive to eating takeaway, playing games and working than most tables provided in hotel rooms. There is not a kettle in the room, but the coffee machines on (almost) every floor are complimentary and provide many choices. We found the resulting coffee beverages much better than the same old instant provided in rooms at other lodging in New Zealand. Our experience with the front desk and housekeeping staff was always cheery and professional. Will, the gentleman who checked us in and seemed to be there almost all the time, was very pleasant and accommodating. In short, our experience was very positive. We will definitely return next time we are in Queenstown.

Loved my stay and would definitely come again! The room had such a nice view, so many nice touches (ghd hair straighteners!) and also great facilities with the lounge, and outdoor spaces. The staff were super friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating! (Should be noted that there isn’t catering on site, but it was super easy to get uber eats, and the location was super close to restaurants). I also loved that I could walk to the beach front first thing in the morning and it’s very easy to be connected to the airport too with buses picking up a 4 min walk away!
