“Great hostel, Andrea on reception rocks!”
Really laidback hostel in the centre of the city. Has some fun staff members, warm comfy beds and good vibes. Andrea on reception is funny and easygoing - even if she took the piss out of me when I couldn't guess where she was from!

“Great value for a private double in central Wanaka”
Travelling solo for work I needed a cheap but private bedroom with en-suite for one night in Wanaka. Base Wanaka was perfect and met my needs well. The room was exceptionally well priced. “Modern backpackers”
A group of us stayed here recently. The rooms are small the shower excellent and hot. The kitchen is well appointed and lots of gear for cooking and seats to eat at. The rooms can get stuffy. Reception friendly and welcoming
