The attitude and attentiveness of the staff is what made me give the hotel full marks. Checking in and out was straightforward. Room was comfortable. Everything worked. Decent variety for the buffet breakfast and if anything ran out, the staff made sure to replenish. Even though it was supposed to be a serve-yourself buffet, the staff were happy to bring things to you at your table. Special mentions go to Mr Famous, Miss Chiamaka and Mr Amadi. Also to Funmi in the spa. The guys at the bar. The security staff. Everyone was very pleasant. We also visited J's Signature Hotel, which is supposed to be a higher brow hotel, but the staff here at Golden Tulip performed better. Would definitely recommend staying here if you are in Port Harcourt

However, as "Golden Tulip" you haven't passed the ergonomics standard for office set table and chair in your rooms. However, as "Golden Tulip" you haven't passed the ergonomics standard for office set table and chair in your rooms. What you have is not ergonomics friendly when one is using the laptop computer correctly as a good typist at least. Please review the setup and change those also.

Overall, I found the experience underwhelming. The rooms had a persistent, unpleasant smell throughout my stay. In the bathroom, the drain cover was damaged and appeared to have been concealed with a bath mat rather than repaired, which was disappointing. However, the room was quite clean. I was initially assigned a room on the fifth floor, but after expressing concerns about my stay, I was moved to the first floor. Unfortunately, the change did not improve my experience. The noise levels, particularly in the evenings, made it difficult to relax, and on one occasion, someone repeatedly tried to open my door even after acknowledging that the room was already occupied. That was quite unsettling and took away from the sense of comfort and privacy one expects from a hotel stay. The biggest disappointment, however, was the room service. Food delivery consistently took far longer than the estimated time, to the point where I learned to budget at least twice the time I was told. On one occasion, I actually fell asleep while waiting for my meal and was close to sending it back out of frustration. The ordering experience also needs improvement. During one call, the room service representative repeatedly rushed me through my order and, when I requested a smoothie, made no effort to ask about my preferred fruit combination. Instead, she intended to prepare it using whatever fruits were available, including watermelon, which I do not enjoy in smoothies. When I declined, I expected an apology or at least an acknowledgment of the oversight, but instead received a justification for the approach. Even for a standard room, I do not believe the overall experience provided good value for the price paid. That said, I would like to acknowledge that the staff were generally receptive, polite, and pleasant to interact with. They were approachable and willing to help. The food itself also has potential but could certainly benefit from improvements in both preparation and service. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as addressing these issues would significantly improve the guest experience.

Their reception is too jam packed gosh! Too many businesses going on in the same space. Too choked up and not really welcoming. Well we spent a night here and we were done because there was nothing to explore anymore we just wanted to go elsewhere. Needs serious renovation everything is old! The kids enjoyed the smart Tv though and their buffet breakfast was really good
